Ah man, I didn't think you'd get rid of that Xa.3...you were super stoked about it. Dave must have a pretty good collection by now, wonder if he's still got my Knight?

Gotta keep an eye on collections you admire.

It was the last of my hex nut swords to go... I slowly replaced all my hex nut swords with peened or permanent assembly... and the Xa.3 was the last to go. Dave's collection must be epic. He still has your Knight, he still has everything he has ever bought... Dave never sells. I would LOVE to see a full list of his collection... he is a quiet, secretive bastard.

I would have sent it to Tom for a mechanical peen, personally. :/

Well I certainly understand that position, and it's not like you can't get another once circumstances allow....

I think the 1326 (back before it had a number) was the first sword I REALLY wanted. In fact, if it weren't for that XIIIb.1 coming out I think I might have gone with this one. Why'd you have to go and write a review to make me second guess? Not convinced that I would change my mind, but that IS a cool sword...

Talon, awesome sword. And looking at the pics was like looking in the mirror or at a long lost brother. Maybe not identical, but we look darn similar. Even had the longer hair back in the day.

this sword is one of the lot that was originally made for Christian Fletcher and thus is finished well above Mercenary Grade finish. the grip is one of my first serious grip wrap attempts and it turned out rather well if I do say so myself. I did that grip under the instruction of Gus who was visiting my place and when my grip tuned out better than his I realized I should work on refining what Gus had taught me and maybe I could offer grip wraps for the armory. this was the grip that made me realize that I can do this stuff.
I have been recently asked if I thought that a 1326 could be easily ground to true lenticular shape. in the past I have always said "no" with some degree of qualification. Talon got the sword he did because the one he was supposed to get wasn't up to par and it was going to be a long, long time before we could get another one made and making it would bump other orders back so I pulled this one off my shelf end sent it to him, giving him an appology upgrade in the process. The one I stopped from being his got sent back to Gus who has reground it using some new techniques and while i haven't seen it yet, I am told it is of TRUE lenticular geometry and very easily sharpens to a wicked stupid sharp edge. but it is significantly different from a 1326 now. it is narrower for a start and will weigh a bit less too so it really isn't a 1326 anymore, but it is proof positive that the soft hexagonal shaped blades Gus makes CAN be ground to true lenticular. it should be available and on the shelf before too long I think. it will be a good example of the sort of thing that will soon be rolling out of Gus' shop and Tried and True Armory very soon. stay tuned, there's a heck of a deal coming down the pipes and this isn't the only one.

ah right that explains the higher degree of finish on the sword, you've went way and above what i would expect with regards to customer service on this sword tom,and the fact that you never mentioned it to me says a lot about your character,a lot of vendors would have been a lot less humble about it,you have my deepest thanks truly great service and something that isn't very common in this day and age

Ahhhhh, another enthusiast discovering the joy that comes from owning a 1326 !! Congratulations brother !! From the first time that I saw Enkidus "Ego Memor", I had to have a 1326, and I seem to remember you expressing some interest awhile back when I reviewed mine. Work with it, and learn how it likes to be handled. You probably remember that I struggled a bit with mine figuring out its idiosyncracies. I really had to let the sword dictate to me how it wanted to be handled instead of going in with a preconceived notion of how I wanted it to behave. Tom was a great help in that aspect, part of the "Full Service" sword package from TTA. You are so going to love the capabilities of that stout little blade my friend, get to know it, and it will quickly work its way into your good graces. Personally, I rank mine near the top of the short list of blades that will never leave my posession. Enjoy

Tried and True has a website, and Hiroshi and TomK are both the people behind it and active members here, so you could always send them a PM or email to find out how much a similar one would be.

Fullers! They're Fullersssssssss!
Sorry, I just think "blood groove" is a very misused and misleading term.

Blood channels, fullers, blood groove, who cares they look good on the sword and to be honest i dont mind a fuller or two makes the sword somewhat better in appearance
