I could stare at that thread all day.
A question though; why do all of those have such shallow bellies? When I think of a Bowie, I see a nice swell. Most of these remind me of the "Arkansas toothpick" style or the fighting knives produced by the British. I love those as well, but is there a reason why most of the ones I see done by custom smiths are like this?
Thanks a bunch for this link, SoS, I'm loving it.

Looking at those bowies, I thought to myself that the distinction between a craftsman and an artist is truly arbitrary, if not nonsensical. I also saw on the news that in MD, someone just won a lottery of hundred of million dollars. If I ever win a lottery like that, I promise myself that I would be a patron of arts -- blade arts.

I don't know how I missed this contest over there! Thanks a ton for posting this SoS.
For some reason, when I first got into knives, I didn't like the bowie. I think it might have been one of those "everyone is always talking about bowies, ugh" types of feelings. But the more and more I look at bowies that have the style of aggressive lines I like, the more I earn affection for this style of knife.
