I have actually been a member of this forum for quite a while. I was a member of the old forum for some time also though I don't believe I had posted there (too many things going on at the time) though I did read a lot there and also on this new iteration of the forum. Anyway I thought it might be a good idea to finally formally introduce myself here. I am glad to be a part of the group here and hope I can contribute in some small way, I already have learned a lot.
I have been fascinated with bladed weapons since I was a kid watching the old swashbuckler movies of the 40's and 50's. My main interest is European Medieval swords but I also have an interest in the hafted Euro weapons.
I have worked with steel most of my adult life in one way or another doing a variety of mill work. I was a custom gunsmith for nearly two decades, have made quite a number of bladed weapons and various tooling as well as having over three decades of experience in the high end wood craft trade both in the gunsmith trade, custom luthiery trade as well as cabinet building and the turning crafts.
The last three years or so I have turned a lot of my attention to the hilt and scabbard crafts. I build swords, hilt parts, and scabbards. I have posted here a few examples of the work I do and you can go to my website if you would like to see more or are interested in any of our swords, hilt parts or scabbard work (or our guitars for that matter). www.Yeshuas-sword.com is the sword site and www.eercustom.com is our guitar building site.
