Was at the Local Gun store today to buy some Bore cleaner and she informed me that my Glock 21 Had finally sold, i got $500.00 even for it, not bad considering i paid $525.00 for it 6 years and thousands of rounds ago  Anyway, i asked her to price a Springfield Armory 1911 GI for me and she said they were back-ordered and she was having trouble getting any of the Springfield 1911's from her dealers. HOWEVER, behind the counter she had ONE Springfield 1911A1 Mil-Spec That comes with 2 Mags, a Hard case, Holster, and Double Mag Holder O___O! I looked the gun over and the slide to frame fit had Zero play in it, the slide was smooth as butter and it fit my hand better than the Standard GI. Needless to say, i HAD to have it, who woulda known id go to the gun store to buy a bottle of bore scrubber and walk out with a Springfield 1911A1 Mil-Spec for $615.00 After i take it to the range and put some rounds through it and verify that it functions properly (which im sure it will) im gonna send it off to be Nickel Plated 100% and i'm gonna put a set of genuine mother of Pearl Grips on it. Heres what shel look like when shes all done.....before and after pic

Yeh... I like the before pic much better then the after. I'm not a fan of shinny guns with pretty grips... I like a working mans gun. I think it looks awesome as is.

I like the original version without the bling. Simple, low-key and deadly.

Maybe it's a Texas thing, but when I see the bling-on-bling (i.e., bright nickel or chrome with pearl or ivory grips) on a 1911, I always think of a .38 Super, getting my Mexico bandit patron on!

When I see a shinny pimped out gun, I think it belongs to someone who has no idea how to use it. When I see a clean, well maintained utilitarian gun... I think they man who owns that knows how to get the job done, period.

Good, then my nickel one might make everyone think the same of me....except i know how to use it  but in all seriousness. All my guns are Pretty much stock barebones, w/e you want to call it. And i decided it would be nice to have one Bling Bling show gun to double as a range gun for plinking, and to mix it up a little.
