Might want to re-read the first paragraph of that section, mate.

Haha, I don't mean to. It's just that phrases like this are erroneous and probably unintentional: I don't want to pull open the complexities of dynamic vs. static balance and polar moments of inertia on the beginners thread, but if you are going to simplify balance down to general statement about POB's at least double check you matched them up right.

HaHa, thanks. Jesus, I don't know how I managed to mix those up, but hopefully not many people read it. Fixed.

I've personally ordered from them 3 times, and each time was blown away by their service and willingness to go above and beyond to please a customer.
Also, I'm actually going to add even more stuff, so keep a lookout. Thanks for the support.

Was looking at the new updates on the post - I was wondering, is Huawei ONLY an Ebay store? or do they have an actual website?
I have never had good dealings with ebay, out of the first 5 times I used it, I gave up because I was told be friends and family that "oh that guy has 99% positive feed back" and I each time I had to cancel my credit card or file a dispute. I got my money back each time but I mean 100% rate of getting rorted is pretty bad lol.
Im a little but smarter now and I know how to check and double check the seller rating, but Im still kinda, wary. I looked at the ebay store and what they have on offer is fan-bloody-tastic I tell you. Im thinking of going ahead with it if the forum goers can vouch for them. Otherwise I'll wait for Pauls email for another custom SBG batch.

Sorry about that. I meant to say that I don't' use Ebay, but that Hauwei seems to be gaining in popularity. They always seem to get one or two things wrong, but their swords are a great value. I'd be weary of requesting a specific hamon, though. They generally seem to just give you one of their usual ones. If I had about $300, I'd probably get one of their folded katanas with the full samegawa wrap and geometric yokote. That's a lot of high-end options for a $300 katana.
I believe that Sinoswords is a Korean company, so the JKoo is their real name. They just go under Sinoswords.
Honestly, I'd go with Hauwei in lieu of Sinoswords, but that is just a personal opinion.
Sorry about the mix-up. I've been getting my nephew ready for school as I've been typing this morning.

A.jordan, I know I trust you, and i've asked it otherwise/place, but what company or smith would you recommend if I wanted a custom bare blade in katana style (folded w/ hamon) I was going to mount euro style? I know John at OdinBlades makes eurokats, but not sure if he would/could do a DH at all or with the longship line launching.. This is a pic of the blade in question.. i55.photobucket.com/albums/g155/ ... ber1-7.png It's not finalized, but it gives you a good idea. I'll probably be shortening the fuller/hi on it to stop just before the curve/sori gets in full swing.

What's your budget? For cheap, Huawei or Sinoswords may be able to give you something close for the blade. I do know that if I was to choose between the two, I'd likely trust Hauwei to make a better blade. If you went through either, be very hands on. Ask for pictures of the blade before shipping.
Take a step up and you have James Raw. He is one of the better "entry level" custom smiths. He could almost certainly make a blade that is to your specifications.
John Smith makes excellent custom blades.
Both of them will charge well over $1000 for a blade, and probably closer to $2000.
In your picture, it looks something like a Shobu-Zukuri with a fairly steep taper. I'm not sure who could do your mounts. It seems that Odin's is the only place I've heard of that being done. I'd put out a post asking if anybody knows more.
The "Fully Custom Blade" post in the Japanese Swords section kind of blows out a little, but a lot of names of smiths get put out. You may want to peruse it and check some of them out.
I hope this helps, and I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Nawww, I'm not a saint. Well, maybe I am. Who am I to argue? Either way, thanks for the compliment. I'm always glad when someone finds something that helps them in it.
