Don't know if any of you have seen these..new company it looks like. Neat concept, a little high on price for me though. And there is more on Kults "new additions section"... www.kultofathena.com/product.asp ... +Apokatana

You know, I wish they didn't put those blood splatter etchings on the blades. They have some pretty neat designs but I find that particular feature off-putting.

Same here too, otherwise they're pretty cool, but I'm looking at all of them and wondering how hard it'd be to take apart and repolish the blade.

Yeah, if they saved themselves the trouble of the blood spatter paint I think they make even more money- more orders and less work! At least make it an option

It's not paint. They splatter a wax mixture on the blade then etche it with ferric chloride. The uncovered areas darken and then they clean the wax off. If you don't want it order direct. You can get the blade bare or completely etched. They will even leave the hammer fordged surface on several of their models. Personally I like the hammer fordged Apokatana & Deuce.

Check out the "Destroying The Deuce" video on their site. Dudes are mildly psychotic and having a ball making their blades. My kind of people.

Just picked one up on here today. Not hammered finish but that's cool too.

Personally i like the etching. Makes them stand out from other 'normal' shiny things Bit expensive for what they are though.

Ok guys, its been a while since i even bothered taking a look at their stuff, cause personally i generally hate the tactical stuff. But... this morning after reading this tread i was curious about their new stuff and saw something i might consider buying !
So can anyone tell how well made their stuff is ?

Considering it took about 7 hours and 2 people to destroy that Deuce, I'd say pretty damn well made!

They do appear to be quite sturdy, but I feel I have to add that they went about their destructive tests in a very stupid and dangerous manner.
At the end of the day, the amount of abuse the machete sustained was very impressive (eating through an entire car hood, cinder blocks, bike frames, televisions, etc), but I cannot and will not support their disregard for safety. Here's the video:
