 ok i think we went over the fact that for him to be that strong he would have to to be something not human. he is like a Barbie doll, an image showing the ideal that is impossible  (by the way dont think im just bashing conan all im doing is compering him to what is meant to be a ''perfect'' image)

I agree the image of the perfect an and woman in comic books n cartoons is crazy if you look at toy figures or the actors they represented from the 50s and look at them now its like night and day I give the example the superman Christopher reeves of the 80s and check out the new one that there filming the guy playing superman is from the Tudors and he's frigging huge and its not a muscle suit itsall him well at least after the steriods I guess that's the reason its fantasy based we forget that as tech progress increases making it a reality it's crazy Don't get me wrong though before I sharpen mine I'm taping my wrists up with sports tape and doing that sword twirl around me he does in the movie at least once

They aren't really. It just seems that way to us. Real swords weighed an average of twenty pounds or so back in the day. At eight pounds, give or take, the Atlantean is really light in comparison.
Now that wasn't so hard, was it?

if conan was a real figure he would look like him and being he was a real person I would say Conan feats of strength are plausible www.sandowplus.co.uk/Competition ... r-biog.htm

notice in the video how a "regular" guy is able to wield the conan sword quickly. Now immagine a 6 ft 2 musclebound superhuman with a bad attitude. Its highly reasonable to believe he can wield it effectively

A cold steel bokken with a little added weight to the hilt, it comes very blade heavy out of the box. What's this about heavier battle swords :?: I am unlearned of this ..........

Look up bearing swords and flamberge and nodachi sword weights its very plausible that a 7-8lb sword was used also brotherbanzai did a cutting video with a Conan sword that looked like he had a lot of control over it

In all seriousness, the Conan swords are not realistic battle swords. They just look cool. Sure I like them and would like to have them if they were more affordable but I'd pick something else to take to a sword fight.
On a side note my nephew told me in all seriousness that the Conan sword from the movie weighed 70 pounds. I try to tell him that was impossible just going by the mass and the weight of steel and all. But he said he'd heard it on the internet so I was stymied.

Bearing swords and nodachi are rare items, and in the case of bearing swords it's quite improbable that they were actually carried in battle. The average war sword, even longswords, generally were under 5 pounds at the most, often within 3-4 pounds or so. As such, the Conan sword, at approximately 42" and 8lbs, is definitely overweight for a sword of its length. You can use it, but until you've got guns like Ahnold, you aren't going to be able to use it *efficiently*. You can shave down that weight a little with distal taper, though, and by using a different metal for the fittings-- bronze and brass are heavy compared to steel, IIRC. The 70lb claim is just... yeah, probably came from that Sword Source site or something. It's ridiculous enough that you can just roll your eyes and let him work out the idiocy of that statement for himself. Hopefully he'll figure it out before he actually tries to make a 70-lb sword and heft it around himself

I would like to believe that history didn't climax instantly, and all I mean is I'm sure there was trial and error and the history of the sword is a long one with in-completes and facts that may never be found again. Seems likely to me that some clan some where some time had sword making technology without medieval/renaissance maturity. Not strong on this opinion, just seems likely  Even if they didn't stick around very long, perhaps melted down for upgraded tech, like today.
