Hey Folks I recently did this sketch for a sword and thought I'd share it. I have it all in my head and would love to see it made if it were to be commissioned. Enjoy!

I second that; I really like the overall balance to it, not to mention the intricate leather risers. I'm also digging the subtly flared shoulders, something I don't normally like.

Hey Brendan you got any measurements on that sketch just to get an idea of size, weight (guesstimate), blade width, blade length.

Not me; every sword I've seen with them never did it right, so it made the blade look super thin (the BKS leaf blade, for instance), or just plain off (the Albion Discerner). I think I like these because they flare only in the last inch or two of the blade, whereas most others I've seen have like 5-6" of flared shoulders.

Great design, absolutely flawless. As stated before it could be another interpretation for Narsil or another dwarf made sword.

QFT. If I could afford it, I'd buy this. It's very attractive and looks function/practical.

I've always been a fan of Brendan's work! If I could afford it I would buy it. If I was buying it though I'd go for a blue wrap and silver fittings or natural wood and gold fittings I'm not a fan of the red wrapping but thats just my opinion. Some one needs to buy one and upload some cutting videos!

I'm wondering how a blue or green wrap would look with the gold, actually. I agree with tiger. If everybody wants to chip in a little bit, I'll certainly take the responsability of uploading a cutting video onto my shoulders... (On that, I -really- need to get the time to write a review of my one lonely Fable Blade.)

Hey Guys Glad you like the sketch. Red, Blue, and Green all look great with gold. I'm open to using steel over brass too of course but the red and antiqued brass are how it came to me at least. :-) If I had a lapse in commissions I might even get a chance to make it, but that's not likely to happen any time on the horizon.

I think Brenno's subtly hinting for us to back off and let him work his own imagination for a bit ;P

Nah I'm easy. If someone is paying they should have it however they want and I want them to love it.
