Since you mentioned a .38 revolver.... This is the only gun I could manage to retrieve from my family's safe before... other relatives... sold them off for money... It has seen at least 3, if not 4 generations of my family now. So far as I could find, it is a 1930's era S&W .38, that was lend-leased to the British Royal Air Force during the WWII.. It's a nice, heavy piece that fits perfectly in my hand. I've just acquired it, so i've not shot it yet, as I need some ammo.. It came with 6, but they appear to be original, aka 50+ years old, so I dont want to fire them. The piece fits perfectly in my hand, and very comfortably, which is rare, as I have some rather large 'paws'. The family member in posession of it neglected to send the leather holster/ammo belt it had hung in, so I need to get off my arse and make one. But, without any further yammering, here's my one contribution to the thread.

What you have sounds like a "victory model" smith and wesson, but the grips aren't right for that. That's not unusual if it saw 4 generations of actual use. Wooden grip panels wear out, they get old, they rot, ant they crack. Check the Shotgun News ads. I see repro holsters and belts for them all the time. I must say, It looks good, even for something half it's age.

This one is back at home for me now, so I intend to try and holster it, given I picked up a pattern-book for such from a friend as a gift. I am also fighting the executor of my grandfather's estate for the .44 magnum he bought and the .22 revolver he had from his grandfather, an air force officers .22 in nickel plating, which breaks down like a shotgun.. It will need serious repair work though.

You know you have too much when you have to put 10+ guns in one picture I think you're short a few safes  Beautiful collection wolf. Gotten rid of a few of mine but everyone's here for the pictures huh? *only have my bush ar, socomII, bhp, cz p09 duty, glock 29 left. I'll get to reviewing the czp09 for you David once I've shot it (it's gonna be a while with finals) - I like it but it needed an aftermarket spring almost immediately (it has an unbearable creaking noise and I'm told its # is too high)

The Socom II looks handy. Don't know about the forearm, though. Ouch. I have chosen a three gun solution: HG, AR15 and LRPR. I played with the following concept for a while. Here is my "Mountain Scout", built on a Remington 700 Mountain LSS in 260Rem: Uses 5-round quick-release magazines. Load: Sierra 6.5mm 140gr BTSP (#1730), Rem Case, WLR, H414 42.0gr.

I've been tempted numerous times by various Scout rifles in the late 90's. Steyr-Mannlicher ScoutThe S-M Scout was to drool over. Sweet trigger, wonderful ergonomics, etc. But the price! Gak! Savage Arms ScoutWhen Savage came out with their reasonably priced Scout ($600 and not >$1500 as with the Steyr-Manlicher Scout), I was not impressed; the stock was flismy and uninviting. So, I worked with local gunsmith here in Phoenix to build on a base I really liked--a Rem 70 Mountain. We added scope rail, refinished all metal, converted to detachable mags (inletting the stock), added robust sling mounts. It's very light and handy though a tad longish thanks to the 22" barrel. This project was more than 10 years ago, long before Ruger decided to offer their Scout. Ruger ScoutThe Ruger Scout is a modern revision (I am no purist and I am not hardline adherent of Cooper's "gospel".) But one should be aware of the modifications/tailorings which broaden the concepts appeal: (1) Single stack 10-round, 5-round and 3-round magazine(s); no flush mount magazine(s), unless one chooses a 3-round magazine. (Why not a staggard magazine?) (2) 16.5" barrel, not 19-20"; a marginal velocity loss (100-150 fps). (I see now that a 18" barrel is offered in matte stainless) (3) Dual purpose mounting rail (not just the for intermediate eye relief scopes) (4) Stock spacers for adjust LOP The only thing I do not like about it is single stack magazine. I am curious to see how far the 5-rounder extends below the stock.

I use 10 rounder's in mine all the time doesn't bother me at all.I also like that it's in 308 I'm not a fan of cal's that are not easy to get.I like ones you can go just about any where in the world and find 308.but that's just me.your rifle is beautiful and I really like the stock.

I don't actually shoot with my hands on the rails just a cleaning pic ~ weighs a lot though at 11.5 lbs with this set-up. Take off all the rails and it's at 8.5ish. Don't think you caught em all just yet wolf ~ something new is always coming out. Ive been waiting on the Sphinx handgun line... Playing with some tavors today and they're pretty hefty - triggers were much better than I expected. The custom trigger was very good, but the stock tavor was hmm creepy (I definitely don't believe those people saying its crisp) I do want to get one eventually - they look pretty exotic and they feel good (surprisingly). That is a fantastic stock Larry ~ I'm curious if that matte finish is cold bluing? 10 rd double stack mags are great...can't imagine a single stacked and how far that would stick out

This is one of my custom builds on a Remington 700 action. I did a 4 color camo paint job, using real grass and leaves for the stencil.

My EDC. Paraordance P10-45. This pocket rocket is no bigger than a S&W Sigma 380. But packs 10 rounds (+1 up the spout) of 45 ACP. Packs one heck of a punch!
