So I recently purchased a Chaos Fantasy Sword off Arms of Valor - I had a coupon, and it came to exactly $250 with shipping. This was on May 28, 2011. It has not yet come and aside from the initial 2 emails I have not recieved any word about it being shipped or arriving. Upon trying to call the number given, I was redirected to a pyschic hotline (wtf?) Upon trying to email them with the email address given, I was given an auto-reply from gmail of: Should I cancel the payment on my credit card and buy from another site, or what? The fact that neither the site's phone number nor email address work is frightening. Thanks in advance for any advice As a side note, I tried putting the confirmation codes sent into UPS Ground tracking, got back an error message. Grrr.

I guess... www.armsofvalor.com/contactus.htmlI was using that...confusing but I'll certainly try the phone number on that site. Thanks EDIT: I'm getting a busy signal on the arms of valour phone number... Is it possible this was like an imitation website meant to scam me? Or is that just over-reacting... Everything on that site, including the pictures/banner/merchandise is EXACTLY the same as on arms of valour except the contact info...What should I do?

Jason Ryan is an old SCA warrior who used to watch the site. Besides Arms of Valor he purchased Imperial Weapons and was trying to make a go of that site. He went off to Iran or Afghanistan with his reserve unit. Someone was supposed to be watching the store. This is all old news. I think the two phone numbers are the same for contact. Hope this works out for both of you. JR was a real standup guy. Bought 3-4 of my first swords from him. Hope all is well....

Thanks for the reply, but I still do not know where to go from here. Will I recieve the sword? Has anyone purchased from this site lately? Or should I just cancel the charge and go elsewhere...as I said I don't want to end up paying and recieving nothing (even for an honest reason). Since the line is busy, I suppose if I am not answered by some form of support within a day or two I will have to try buying from another site. Anyways, thanks for the replies!

Hm... As Dave said... AoV is/was a solid vendor run by a great guy... who has been deployed overseas for some time now. While he is gone, Clyde Hollis of Gen 2/Legacy Arms has been tending to the AoV site. I bought something from there maybe 7 months ago or so and had no problems... maybe he is busy or backed up with some sort of issue... or maybe you did use a mirror site or some sort of scam, I can't say. All I can say is the TRUE Arms of Valor site is a real and trustworthy source for blades. I hope this works out for you.

Thank you. I sent an email to the actual email address, and recieved a rather speedy reply stating that he had attempted to send me a message telling me it was out of stock and it would be a few weeks before they had some. I cannot find this email, but it is good to get some response. He also said they were both the same site, although I still find it odd that the phone and email for the other one do not work. Anyways, all seems to be good for now

I always figured with and without the u were both mirrors of the same, just to avoid confusion from those baffled by international spelling...
The only thought in my mind right now is, it's only been a week and a half since your order. It's not unusual to not have your sword yet, but it's rather odd that the carrier doesn't recognize the tracking number. Are you sure it's a UPS number? I ordered some boots from a random site a few weeks ago, and they sent me a "UPS tracking number" that UPS didn't recognize, but when I googled the number, it came up with FedEx tracking.
Try searching Google for your tracking info or go over to boxoh.com and put it in there; it'll pick out which of the major couriers it belongs to and report its findings.
Of course, as to the contact info...well, that is rather puzzling. Might just be that the one mirror never updated its contact page after Jason shipped out to reflect the change of command, as it were, and the number he used to own for the business was purchased by another and that's where you got?
Anywho, AoV is Good Stuff, so unless there's something really fishy going on with this mirror, you should be fine.
Whoops, I see you got an answer. Well, there you go, then. :x
