It is a good sword. It is a bit on the heavy side and does not quite "flow" in the hand as smoothly as I would like.

But it is solid and feels strong in the hand. It just feels...deadly . A good battle sword.

I got the MRL sharpening service for it. They gave it a steep, crude and rough secondary bevel that cut me while I was running a rag along the side of the blade...yes, that rough. A few minutes with sandpaper and it was smooth and less dangerous. It cuts very well.

It is also the only Type XIV in the sub $300 range that I am aware of.

All in all, if available for a good price I would recommend it
