Can anyone help me with this... Several months ago I bought x2 swords of a known seller (STROMLO SWORDS)... He promised me theyd be with me in 2 months... almost 2 months after the due date I am stil waiting! Ive emailed over 12 times and NO reply what so ever! No refund and no explanation! I payed alot of money, especially in todays 'financial climate'. Now Ive recently found out Im not the first person he's done this to! What can I do?? Does anyone know him? All I want is the items I payed for or else my money back Please I hope someone can help or he could at least read this and do the right thing, thats all I want

Stromlo Swords? They're supposed to be decent people. The owner actually posts right here; you can search him by 'Stromlo Swords' and see if you were actually talking to him or if you got taken for a ride by some scammer.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if our Stromlo was scamming people. I've bought a blade or two off him in the classifieds section back before he came a vendor and had no issues at all.

I have also purchased from Stromlo, great guy. Try PMing him directly, otherwise I wonder if something has happened to him? I know he usually replies supper quick... Hope he is ok.

his name off paypal was "robert stanford" and its the same email address off the stromlo websites etc. So yeh Id say it was the right person. Im not the first hes done it on and I doubt hed reply to me on here if he cant reply to me by email

ive private messaged him on here yesterday and as yet no reply... though obviously I know to give it a few days.
And if your right in that hes moving away then surely the order should have been posted and arrived several months ago and it doesnt take that long. Though I hope you could be right in a factor and expect a decent reply from him with an explanation cause im very concerned about it. Hope your right. If anyones talking to him please mention this

First a public apology for not being available to answer questions from customers directly in recent times. I have not been using my email addresses and have had difficulty passing along information to others.
Soon after I returned to Australia last year I took up employment with a government agency in a weapons related field which will not allow me to continue as the director of a sword business. As such I passed on everything to several people to act as agents on short notice while the business could be rearranged or sold. Over this time they took a rather disinterested view and also used my name in responding to clients, and not offered quality service. During this I have lost access to accounts, lost clients, lost product and had to have the house in the US foreclosed.
Sword selling is not a particularly lucrative avenue, but one I found rewarding as an enthusiast. Unfortunately it could not make the transition from sword-interested dealer to separately managed business with success, in part because the time / $ equation is not great and sales are not particularly on the way up.
As I am still unable to continue the business, it has been removed from those agents and is with a trustee pending dismantlement. I have resolved to fund having all orders placed with Stromlo Swords that are outstanding to be fulfilled as soon as suppliers are able to deliver them – and there have been serious delays on this front also because of manufacturing difficulties. I am hoping to pass on any remaining products as gifts to those affected.
I will ensure that this message is passed onto all customers via their email addresses.
I will remain an interested member on the various forums, and as a hobby but the business will not be accepting new orders.

Sorry to hear about your troubles... Its always super frustrating to trust something important to others... only to find they have done poorly in your name. I hope you are able to clear that up swiftly. And sorry to lose another vendor/seller... dropping like flies these days they are. :?

Hello,
No not as yet though some soothing emails which provide what I had before.....nothing....
I've forwarded a complaint to Paypal as y'can't lodge a claim on a transaction over 45 days old, but the complaint made me feel better briefly and I've received an accknowldgement from Paypal confirming they've noted Rob activities so I'd urge you to do the same.
Australia isn't that big a place, Rob will surface sooner or later.

Oh man... I'm not directly affected, but I'm truly sorry for this. I don't know of many reliable sword vendors in Australia, hope everything works out with everyone who's order was delayed and Rob himself...
