Kershaw Skyline Folder Review

Here's one simple review from me, about a simple knife that I bought. This is about one of my favorite everyday-carry blade (AKA EDC knife/blade). This might seem out of place on a forum about big, large backyard cutters and collection swords, but if you like useable, carryable knives, I suggest you take the time to check this review out !
Introduction
I bought this knife because I heard many great things about it from NutNFancy, a youtube reviewer that I commonly listen to (and sometimes criticises, on other things than blades). It seemed like a very practical and affordable folding knife. It had all the qualities that I wanted for a EDC knife ; light weight, easy to open and reasonable blade-lenght. I bought this knife from yourcornerstore.com, along many others. If you need more info about that internet store, you can check out my other, earlier knives reviews.
I bought this knife for about 33 $.
Initial impression was good, and my opinion of this knife improved with time, once I started to learn to adapt to its quirks.
Here are some numbers ;
◦Steel......Sandvik 13C26 stainless-steel with stone-washed finish
◦Handle...Textured black G-10
◦Lock.......Locking liner
◦Liner......410 stainless-steel
◦Blade......3-1/8 in. (7.9 cm)
◦Closed...4-1/4 in. (10.8 cm)
◦Weight...2.3 oz.
◦Made in the USA
Fittings
The grip is made of textured black G-10. The design is very simple ; some G-10, a steel liner and the blade sandwiched between two more slabs of G-10. The shape of the grip is ergonomic, it fits nicely in hand and is comfortable to hold. However, it is a bit small for my L-sized hands.
The blade is made of Sandvik 13C26 stainless steel. It is quite sharp and very useable for small EDC tasks. The stone-washed finish looks great, IMHO, but also makes the blade more rust-prone. Mine quickly started growing small specks of rust. It is a small annoyance for someone who rarely use knives like me, but those who use knives more often and who don't like oiling their blades might get very annoyed.
The folder ocmes with a nice belt clip which can bee un-than-rescrewed for tip-up or tip-down carry (although it'll be for right-hand carry only).
Handling and use
The knife's flipper opening mechanism is one strange, quirky characteristic. In the beginning, I had some trouble opening this knife with this mechanism. The flipper required some practice to get used to. After that, opening the knife became very quick and easy. A little finger and wrist action opens the blade with a nice, dry snapping noise. The simple ergonomics make the handle comfortable and the knife easy to use. However, that grip might feel a bit small for very large hands. My L-size hands are a bit tight on this handle, so XL-size hands might find the space too limited.
Conclusion
Pros
-Sharp edge
-Simple, comfortable design to hold
-Quick deployment speed
-Very light
Cons
-Rust and stone-wash finish are good friends here
-Handle might be too small for XL-sized hands
Overall, I believe this is a fine mid-size EDC folder. It is very light for its size, it comes with a nice blade and is quick and easy to use. Plus, it all comes for less than 35 bucks if you shop at the right places (I suggest knifecenter and gpknives). I think this knife can make a very decent light working knife, a functionnal, efficient yet very affordable working knife !
I hope you enjoyed this review ... Next time... I'll review something ... larger
