Thanks. So I'm assuming the newspaper is pretty much the same method as the tatami mat? And I was thinking about asking around for recycling. Anyway... yeah, been working on my latest creation as of the past few days, I'm going to end up posting it and pictures of it in the Sword making section of the forum. So yeah, I'll let you guys know when I get the Clay Musashi, and post pictures and review (because I couldn't find one here).

Yes newspaper can be prepared similarly to tatami. Just don't soak it for as long or the newspaper will turn into mush. Since its wood pulp and not threaded reeds it'll suffer a catastrophic structural meltdown when it gets too wet. When rolled tightly and soaked in cold water for about 30 min it will feel similar to tatami when cutting.

Ahhh...I see...I completely forgot about the whole disintegrating part of newspaper....oh well....anyway...Thats good to know if I ever wanted to test tatami for a video........without ever having tatami.... hehehe....
