Tried and True Armory needs a reviewer for our I-beam blunt trainer. Any interested person needs to be actively involved with a historic European martial arts practice/study group of some kind. We will want you to use the sword in live steel practice at full / normal speed and then write about your experiences with the sword. Basic pictures are preferred and video is great but mostly we want an experienced practitioner's point of view. Unfortunately we cannot really sell the sword after such use so we will ask that the reviewer buy the sword, which we will sell very cheap. We would like to offer this training sword to a qualified reviewer for $375 shipped anywhere in the cont. USA triedandtruearmory.com/econ/inde ... duct_id=95 Interested persons need to send an email to triedandtruearmory@gmail.com!

Damn I wish I had the money because I could do it. I do need to get a steel trainer, right now for longsword we only use wooden wasters. I could take it to Davenriche European Martial Arts School, I think Steaphen Fick would be cool with it.

Heh, at my German Longsword class we just started using steel recently as we're getting in to complex drilling. And our form is at a place where our instructor is pleased with our blade handling. Pity I'm in New Zealand or I'd stick my hand up for this.

What about BrotherB/aka Jeffrey Robinson? I haven't seen him around here much of late, but he's involved in a German longsword group and has even made his own I-beam steel trainers. I bet his opinion would be properly informed. www.bronzebyjeffreyjrobinson.com ... words.html

Hey, thanks for thinking of me LittleJP. I'm kind of broke at the moment though, but it would have been cool. We could have tested it against Albion's Meyer and the Hanwei Tinker. Besides, I'm in Montreal, Canada... Now, if the shipping isn't too steep to get it to Montreal, I can try to talk to one of my partners. He's been doing HEMA for more than 4 years, and he'll be teaching at the HEMAC-Dijon (half my school is going...I can't ). Anyways, he's quite good at Fiore longsword, wrestling and dagger. Basically, he knows his shizzle. I know he was recently looking to buy a Meyer, but this could be a cool option. Besides, I'm pretty sure everyone in the group would like to try it too, so you'd get several opinions. Tom, do let me know and I will ask him if he's interested. www.arte.ca.cx/ <--- my school (sorry, site is in french only).

Update: we posted our offer with several boards and the response was larger that I'd have ever imagined, so much so that there's no way we could find the time to respond to every email. a prospective reviewer has been chosen but the deal is not yet 100% final.
I'd like to thank everyone for your interest and if you didn't hear from us it isn't that we didn't take you seriously but that there were so many good candidates it took all the time we could muster just to select one.
hopefully before long there will be a detailed review for everyone to see.
again thank you all for your enthusiasm.
