Hey, all! The first time I saw "Predator", I knew the moment Billy unsheathed that beautiful bad boy that I wanted one. It has a very small scene in the film, but that machete's totally bada** deployment is still one of my favorite moments in the movie. I've seen at least four different versions in my interweb searches: Regular versionSignature edition20th Anniversary edition20th Anniversary signature edition - I get the feeling that this one is incorrectly labeled. Is there any appreciable difference between these three (or four)? Other than the text on the blade, I cannot tell. Can the text on the blade be removed by being buffed or polished out? I would greatly prefer that the blade and hilt be unadorned with any logo filth so as to heighten the "realism" of the item. Would a knowledgeable craftsman be able to do this without altering the finish on the blade? I don't plan on putting this prop through any real stress tests, but obviously I don't want it to fall apart on me. If anyone has owned or handled any of these versions I'd very interested in your feedback! Also, I'm assuming there are craftspeople out there who can make custom scabbards/sheaths. I don't want this piece mounted on my wall, I want to wear it (not to work, of course)! What would a custom scabbard/sheath for a piece like this cost (ballpark)? Thanks in advance! Dave S.

Hey Dave, Those all look like the same stainless steel BudK display piece with different text on the blade. They should have pretty good fit and finish and look smashing on your wall, but that's about it. The words look lightly etched, so you could polish them out, but you'd also remove the gray finish on the blade. As far as wanting a custom sheath, why don't you go for the whole shebang? Talk to Chris at Scorpian Knives and Bows, he can make you a custom REAL and FUNCTIONAL Predator machete with sheath for only a bit more than these stainless steel buggers: traditionalarcherybows.com/handm ... e_p96.html

I'm not sure what value would actually be added by having it signed by a fictitious character. now if it were signed by Arnie himself, I could see the value...at least a little more than not signed. or at least the person who designed it.

Hey, Lunaman!
Thanks for the link! I sent Chris an e-mail and look forward to hearing back from him. Seems like his customers are keepin' him pretty busy, but that's fine since it will take more than a few months to budget the expense of a custom piece like that.
