Hey everyone, looks like Hanwei has released some more Shaolin swords! Don't know what to think of them cuz I never held any of their Shaolin stuff but the Dharma sword looks nice! I don't know if it's even cutting swords, flexible wushu, or just an expensive SLO! I'd like to hear someone's opinion, cuz they seem like pretty affordable sub $300 swords assuming if they're cutters!...oh yeah, couple of days ago there was a fire over at Hanwei's Dalian factory, it will probably be a while 'till we get to see anyone selling these...

I saw them, and the Dharma sword looked good to me too... but I think they are practice swords like the Practical Thi Chi Sword... not real cutters.

I agree with Sean after having looked at them. They're probably practice swords like the practical model, the Adam Hsu line, and the Swallow pair. However, I've seen several people use the PTC for cutting with nothing worse than a light set of the blade, so if their construction is sturdy, they could still be used as cutters; I'm not saying you should, though I like the look of the Brass Jian.

hmm, according to the casiberia website the Dharma sword is said to be "forged, high carbon steel..." and the handle and scabbard is "traditionally crafted in bamboo." Never heard of a sword furniture made of bamboo, though I could be wrong lol!
