Everybody is an individual, he is just another example of the diversity.
The sword seems to cut well enough for what it is, I think it's kind of cool.

Very true; I just have a problem with people who revel in the idea of being crooks and thugs.
As to the sword, seeing it in motion has decided me against it completely. It's still a fine sword, it just looks better in the pictures to me. Now, if it had the claw guard on both sides of the blade, a thinner tsuka, and maybe a hand-and-a-half length, like say 7-8", I'd like it. But as is, it looks a little funky.

As a project sword, it depends. If you can take it down without destroying the furniture, it might be worth it since it's an inexpensive sword and the blade itself looks pretty cool, as is the overall theme. But, when it comes to hilts, I likes me some symmetry. Mind, these are just my thoughts on it from a hypothetical standpoint, so don't let that affect your decision if you wanna get it.

Yeah, the urban tough image is a bit overplayed.

bleachsword makes a good point here I think that is getting overlooked... we ARE supposed to be the 'Friendliest Sword Forum' on the interwebz... and yet many of us, myself included, tend to forget that at times and get snippy or downright rude. I see no reason to snipe this kid for his choice in clothes... unlike our 'Backyard Ninja' he is not dressing up to act like a total whackado... he is just waring whatever it is he wares. Making assumptions about his character based on his atire in this case seem a bit premature to me. The only thing I see in the vid that bugs me is the sword twirling... it is pointless, unsafe, and I always hate it when I see it. I think we would all do well to try and be less judgmental and more friendly.

Considering that I will dress up in a full kit of armor to go to a fair, I'm not about to throw stones at someone for what they wear. About they only place where I draw a line is when someone wears something with obscenities on it around kids. Otherwise, its their business and if they don't mind some people possibly staring at them, more power to them.

the sword is not my cup of tea. as for the clothes... no biggie. as for the back belt system... to me it looks restrictive to proper movement. i personally would not wear it since some movements may find it way too problematic.IMHO.
as for anything that might be construed as an off-cuff comments... it would be best if they could be removed by the ones posting them, since it appears that someone has invited this guy to the forum on youtube comment section.

I'll be honest, I totally adore that blade. I'd love to put it on, like, a modernized infantry saber or something.
As for the suspension system, I have nothing at all against wearing swords on your back, as long as you can still move properly and the sword can actually be drawn.
The hat is a bit much. I mean, who wears a hat while cutting, during summer?
The rest doesn't look that bad. Hell, I dress like that sometimes, and I bet it looks better on him then on me.

I actually went ahead and bought one of these the other day when True Swords had them back in stock. I thought it looked different and for $70 I figured what the hell worse case it'll be a project blade. The sword itself is not bad other than the fake hamon. I'll get rid of that with a little mother's mag and it should look better.
The tactical carry system on it is lacking to be nice. I am way too tall for it to fit comfortably and I'm only 6'3". I'll have to see if there is a way I can make it work better for me. You can take it off which I have done for now.
The grip is actually pretty comfortable and the blade feels decently balanced.
Is it worth a lot of money? No. Is it worth $70 just for kicks and to have something a little different? Yes.

Have you cut with it yet how does it feel if so? sturdy? Also 6' 3'' is actualy rather tall, I concider any one over 5' 10'' tall(as I am arround 5' 7'')

Haven't had a chance to cut with it yet but the blade feels beefy and sturdy. I will need to work on the edge before i try to cut anything, there are a few rough spots on it and the edge isn't to my taste. That's no big deal for me though as I generally resharpen most of my blades anyway to get the edge profile I want on them.
