I dunno, man. For a fully custom blade, John's turnaround time is pretty sweet, waiting list time included. And it's just long enough to make you really crave that thing and flip out like a little kid when you get it Congrats, Travis! Absolutely gorgeous piece, and I can testify that it moves crazy well, despite being such a monster. Can't wait to see some cutting vids.

While its true that comparatively... in the custom sword world... Johns turn around time is not bad at all... the wait can still be a killer sometimes. I know I waited about 8-9 months for my Odin... and while it is an amazing sword and well worth the wait... I did chew off a few fingernails. The only super-fast custom maker I've ever dealt with is our Brenno... wait is normally only about 6 weeks and I've gotten 4 swords from him at this point. That said... John's (Odinblades) work is amazing... and I do hope to get at least 2 other blades from him when I get the chance. Also... I've had hundreds of swords in my collection... many Atrims, Albions, A&A's and customs... and Marc Ridgeway's Odin blade is the single most amazing sword I have ever held in my hands. If Marc were not the 6ft+ OGER that he is, I would have ran off with it when he handed it to me... its simply amazing. I'm sure Travis's sword here is the same.

his newest "slice 3-D" pic on the top of his main page is mine, and even though it's almost the most inexpensive sword he can make(think almost SBG price range) it's still beyond good in every way it can be, handles and cuts amazing..i'll soon get some ultra fine emery cloth, canvas and rouge and polish the edges up to something resembling the Tom system sharp. odinblades.com/swords.html

Travis,
There is absolutely nothing about that package that I do not like. Congrats to you on acquiring an heirloom quality blade.
Congrats to you also f.m. on your Slice, it looks like as clean a piece of work as we would expect from John.

It is the "Nicko Peacemaker" design and posting the price is not a problemo. Although I cannot gaurantee that I could do it again for said price. We had some go around and I did ask him for more than he agreed to due to scabbard cost. This is just alot of sword for price and I was desperate for dough at the time. I'm desperate but can do many other things for the price and sell em elsewhere, Just don't do it right now . Orders are few and appreciated but some hagling about time frame and expencise may arrise. I've been asked to duplicate the sword already but had to ponder some things first before it can be put in stone. I feel Mr. Nicko got a great deal, it is not the same deal I would make again due to size and quality etc. so some of you may want to keep that in mind. But also, new orders are valued and take my word for it very important, so remember to at least ask. thanks John

Thanks for dropping by John, my man! Hope you like the pics...I sure as sempr!ni like the sword. I really appreciate the deal you made me (this monster & scabbard came to my door for $1400) and completely understand the adjustments in cost. I'm forever grateful for your services, sir!

You could add a few more beans to what you paid and it would still be a value.
To be honest, I was thinking closer to 2K from the start.

I think you might find a lot of these get made even with a price rise, as all the comments here have been very positive to date.

Wow...you got such an amazing sword, with which I fell in love with instantly, with a beautifully crafted scabbard for only $1400? If I had the money for it, I'd pay more than $2000, and would still consider it a steal. I mean it. This sword is one of the nicest I've ever seen, period.
