Using just an accusharp would be a MAJOR mistake in my opinion. It takes between 2 to 3 hours to sharpen a DSA sword, and that was doing a sharpening job on my own sword.

idk, but reliks doesn't follow the law and they've got no problems.

I'm a bit confused about that one, myself. How does Reliks do it? Do they have some special permit the rest of us don't know about?
DSA's bluntness makes sense, as they're first and foremost reenactment blades, thus sharp is a bad idea. But if other Canadian retailers like Reliks can stock sharp swords, I don't see why DSA can't start making a few sharps for those of us more concerned with functional cutters than reenactment gear.

Probably one of those laws that no one pays attention to. Apparently it's illegal to take a shower at night in south florida.

That's a good one. There are so many laws out there that are simply ludicrous, I used to know quite a few for VA, but have forgotten them all. I wonder how huge an undertaking it would be for DSA to expand to the states and start producing sharps here... I imagine pricing would suffer, if only at first... But if somebody were to make a half-decent Anduril that came fully sharpened with a good edge geometry that I could afford, I'd be ecstatic. I'm not even that big a LoTR fan, but the Anduril is a very pretty sword on its own. Okay, Ramm, I think I've got you beat. In VA, it is illegal to have a bathtub in your house. It must be out in the yard. Don't tell anybody, but there are two bathtubs in my house. I'm debating a thread about silly laws, old or current, but that may go against the "no politics" rule... At any rate, this thread needs to get back to the DSA Anduril.

I think the actual law that prevents Darksword from shipping live blades may be a provincial one. Not to get too political, but Darksword is located in Quebec, while Reliks is in Ontario.
Quebec is the only province to have a civil law system. Many of Quebec's laws differ from other provincial ones. Quebec is almost like a different country inside of Canada. Drinking and smoking ages are different. Different regulations on various things.
So I wouldn't be surprised if that was where the law came from.

Ah, good point. Hadn't thought of that, somehow.
I'm still curious if they'd have any way of expanding their operations to a place that allows sharps...

I'm lazy and terrible with asking about things that I can't buy yet. Go for it, Ancalagon.

Australia is run like 8 separate countries in one federation still (6 states 2 teritories). Every state has different weapons and road licensing, road rules / signage etc. Its so dumb.
Perth, the capital of Western Australia, is 2,700km away from the next state capital. It's three and a half times the size of the Texas, and 70 times the size of the Netherlands, and the population is just over 2 million.
Cool hey?

Regarding sharpening: It would have to add to the time of constructions and the price, and they are fetching a pretty penny without them sharpened, so they needn't bother.

I think I read somewhere that is actually costs more to make swords meant for reenactment. Blades that are meant to be sharp are forged thinner, and with no secondary bevels. So if they started making sharp peices, they'd cost less wouldn't they?
