Does anyone know of another manufacturer, aside from cold steel, that makes a mass production Nodachi?

Hanwei Odachi is on KOA for $738 I think. You can get a custom one from Huawei for under $300 as well. I've always thought that the cold steel nodachi resembles more of a Nagamaki instead. Don't you agree?

I have the Hanwei Odachi. It is very nice, I have done some cutting with it and it is very solid and well made.

Ah, I've had a little itch for the kensei. I'm a tad short to use these properly though.

I'm a little on the verticaly challenged side all so lol, so i tend to stick to 28" max length. Would so love to see that sword being unsheathed and used lol ! how much sori you think it has?

Well, it's 43" nagasa, so probably between 2" and 3". I thought it was interesting, though, that the differences in design between this sword and the Kensei odachi are fairly few (In basic design, at least. Waaaay different in reality.). Both have a decent amount of sori, both are in similar handachi saya, both are quite robust rather than just long, and both show similar dimensions when comparing blade to tsuka.

this nodachi is as tall as them, maybe taller and yet their able to draw AND attack with it. ONLY you can determind what you cant do..but only once you have tried it ^_^. Words from my father.

Wow I don't think I would ever want to go against one of those guys with an odachi... They look like they could hold a castle by themselves...

I think that thats what that sword art was for. I could be wrong but not many people used a Nodachi for sword fighting. guards had pole arms like the yari and naginata from what Ive read. I could understand why some guards would have carried these. If someone drew a nodachi on me I would think twice on attacking them due to the maii ( I think thats how you spell it....means distance I believe in japanese). The chick in the video is probably taken....but still if a girl can do it....I think you would be able to do it too.

Kensei is out of business...so you would have to get lucky and find one somewhere. OR...choose a different manufacturer. Good luck.
