Hey there, SBG. a little backstory first.
I'm a student taking visual communications classes, and my current project involves making a fake magazine to show off our layout and composition abilities. Me, being as fascinated by swords as I am, decided to base my fake magazine around sword collecting and the like.
now, here's where the point of the thread comes in. While I do have a fairly nice camera, the only sword I actually own currently is a really beat up stagefighting smallsword that looks like someone had set it on fire at some point. not very photogenic, as you would imagine.
Basically, I need pictures of swords for my magazine layout, and since the images have to be 300 dpi to work properly, pulling images off google image search isn't going to cut it.
Can anyone either point me to a website with a lot of free high res pictures of swords or people using swords, OR - and this would be VERY appreciated - PM me some un-resized pictures of their own swords? It would be best for me if I can get pictures of them being used, but anything would be a help. Doesn't need to be any particular type of sword, just so long as its a sword.
Thanks in advance, this would be a great help for me if you can forward me anything.

You need any specific backgrounds?

nothing specific, no. Just some pictures of swords, though one or two showing them in use would be really great. Anything showing off a hamon would be fantastic, but like I said, I'm not specifically asking for any certain type of sword.
I forgot to mention in the first post, but this isn't for a WHOLE magazine, just some pictures to go on a cover and three interior pages.

thats absolutely true, any images I use are going to have a photographers credit line on display. This is something I want to make a career of after all, not giving proper credit is the sort of thing that gets people sued! DPI is an industry term, the best way to describe it would be pixels per inch. Publications and printed work generally is done at 300 DPI, but web and screen images are displayed at around 72. That pretty much means that something screen-filling on the internet would either not take up nearly as much space on paper, or look horribly blocky with visible pixels.
Thanks for telling me about MyArmoury, that looks like it'll be a huge help.

I do believe you need to pay a small fee to become the member.
And I can probably supply with some better pictures once my katana comes in.

Many apologies, Nathan-- I did not mean to encourage breaking copyright laws or usage rights. I know too little about the subject and I was misinformed.
