Well, personally when I'm using a hafted weapon like an axe or a mace, I literally feel like it's an extension of my arm. I mean, a sword I usually have to put more thought into directing it, but my mace..... Man I barely notice the thing. I don't have to focus on moving it at all, it just flows. It's like the mace is doing all the work. Compare that to my Lionheart sword, where I have to keep a careful watch on where it's going and what it's doing....

That's interesting... A mace or axe is the exact opposite for me... since those weapons are so tip-heavy... they require more effort and thought to move effectively, especially to change directions quickly.

That's what I thought too! And I mean scientifically, I guess it's still true, but I find them more comfortable to use than my sword

Well, for one thing, with a mace you don't have to worry about edge alignment - it really works very much like your own fist (think hooks and hammer fists rather than jabs and crosses). At least in my experience, based on what little boxing and mace work I've done.
