I have recently purchased an Albion Knight Sword and was wondering what do you guys suggest for a safe and secure way of mounting it. Thank you for the info.

What exactely do you mean by secure, you want something that will hold it tight or you mean you got children running around and you dont want them to be able to get it down ?

I mean hold it tight. No children in this house. I was hoping to hang it vertically if possible with the blade pointing down.

Thudd, here's an inexpensive wall mount that should be exactly what you're looking for: www.trueswords.com/universal-swo ... p-426.html By the way, welcome to SBG.

search any sword site for displays, or ebay.. What Vincent shows you is probably the most common option and looks good with really any sword. Some will have a matching ledge or shelf that screws to the wall under the blade tip. Google images 'wall sword stand, or hanging sword stand etc.

I've always liked the look of United's Universal Sword plaque, the finish gets progressively darker as you move to the edge. I think it would look dandy with an Albion Knight: www.kultofathena.com/product.asp ... ord+Plaque Fitting that company that specializes in "wall-hangers" at least knows how to hang swords on the wall quite well.

Thanks for the info. I think I will go with the type that Enkidu suggested but at the lower price of course.

Ive got to buy two next week, as long as my money order gets to Jim for the Tinker, and Sonny can hurry and send out my 303s, He's had it in limbo for over a week. And I'm really wanting it for my b-day on tuesday. Both of them.

another suggestion would be padded guitar hangers.. you know the ones that hang guitars from the end ofthe neck....i thin they would work really good for any sword with a cross gaurd like many medieval/euro swords...

Another way you could do it is make your own, go to any craft store and get your choice of wood plaque(unfinished if you would like to finish it yourself to match furniture) and then go to Loews or Home Deopt, check out their selection of knobs and door handles. These can be mounted to your plaque and they usually have a wide variety of these to pick from. Also you can get some felt tape to place on the plaque behind where the sword would sit to prevent scuffing. You can do all of this for usually around $20-$30 depending on the type and quality of materials you buy. I hope this helps.

haha, well there's always the no-hanger option, just stick the sword through the sheet-rock and have it hanging out...as long as you are not renting your place, of course.

and if you put it all the way through, you can use the point for a coathook on the opposite wall!
just don't want to be leaning up against it...

 I'm a klutz at times ......I'd end up killing myself.
Police: What happened here miss? Wife: Well my husband was walking across the room and tripped over nothing. Police: No really? Wife: Hey he's a cheapskate and he fell on his sword. Police: Ooookay!

This being the "Friendliest Forum" and all, I won't argue with you, but I would have bet money I was the only one who could even imagine tripping and killing themselves on their own sword, +1 for the laugh.
