First off I couldn't decide where to put this so if this could be in a better spot please move it.
Strongblade armory has some of there tempered sword on sale for tempered with scratch and dent for like 20$ bucks cheaper. What does this mean. Could this have any affect on the sword or the way that it handles or operates.

I personally shy away from Strongblade. They are replica swords based on Windlass models (I know first hand that Windlass does not make these, because I spoke with the owner of the company ), remade with cast parts, no temper (unless opted for), very thin rat-tail tangs, and no real redeeming qualities in a market where you can get quality H/Ts for under $200. In my book, the quality just is not there to consider it combat-ready in any sense.
However, if you do decide to buy, please post a detailed review so we can see if they have improved anything over the last couple years.

I agree with Jon. strongblades are anything but strong blades. I consider them to be carbon steel, possibly heat treated wall hangers.

from what they said on their website they acctually have real tangs and also several reviews from there products that said they were ok. Also I just read that the only thing that put them in the scratch and dent was that they have a threaded tang and their new productions are peened.
but I totally agree and I'm still really hesitant about buying from them but if I do there will be a review on it.
right now I'm looking at either the predatorian gladius or the stormblade musketeer style rapier any opinion.

Gotta agree with Odingaard and Tom... I'm not impressed with Strongblade. I consider them a step down from Windlass... and while some of the swords may be functional... there are so many better options on the market these days for around or near the same amount of money.

Thank you everyone. I think that you have made strongblade move down a bit on my list. Still considering but not so much. The other two blades that im looking at are the H/T Norman or the Newest Falchion from valiant armory that hasent come out yet.

I don't know anything about them but I can't help but notice their prices are substantially lower than the major manufacturers, much more than just trimming some fat or running an efficient business model. Kind of makes me wonder why that might be...

The prices from KoA are substantially lower them a lot of other places. Several of their rapiers are not more expensive than a Hanwei from KoA.
Example Hanwei Gustav Rapier $133.95 Sharpened Stormblade: Swept Hilt Rapier Tempered $144

But those are stock manufacturer prices versus (very close to) wholesale. Perhaps Strongblade is simply an exception, but pretty much all the other manufacturers jack up the rack rate because they prefer to sell in bulk to dealers like KOA. Or put another way, I would lay odds a $140 Strongblade rapier is only 'worth' around $80 if you found it on a retailer site--if such a retailer wanted to carry them.

Thats something that worries me. No other store has strongblades in stock. However I have read reviews on the other site like Serge's Gladius review where he did the imposable cut. He rated their Praetorian Guard Gladius as great 4.5/5

Strongblade is odd... they sell Hanwei and Valiant armoury stuff as well as their own stuff... I don't know what to make of them. However I've yet to be impressed with the looks of any of their own line... and the 'feel' of the site is just a bit odd to me.

who does the write ups for that site? It's too juvenile for me- the writers goofy attitude doesn't give much confidence

I agree I wouldent trust them at all if it were not for other people who had gotten and reviewed them on the other site.
