Jees guys, Thank you! I gotta apologize for taking so long to answer and for being so short answering. The way its going right now, I have good days and I have not so good days... which the last few have been - not so. Its ridiculous to have to admit that sitting at the computer on such days is difficult for me...wah, wah, wah...
But the main thing is - you guys are the greatest! You make me laugh, you make it all worthwhile. So thanks, for real.
OK, I hear the violins warming up in the background so I'm outa here. and pass the oxycodines will ya?

Yeah, but we'd rather have you in good working condition, instead of killing yourself over this project. If you have to take a week (or three) to heal up, do it. We can wait for our swords, dude. --Edward

Hey guys, its been a while... so heres an update. Health-wise I'm hanging in. Still kicking! But maybe becoming somewhat more resigned to the facts of life as viewed from 61+ years down the road... Of course, having said that, I am going to the gym later today - so I haven't given up completely just yet...hahahahahahahahaha
Later this week I'll be starting to engrave the Atlantean symbols on Dave's blade, then its put on the grip and patina the bronze. You'll be seeing finished sword photos very soon! Its pretty exciting to be seeing that proverbial light at the end of the incredibly protracted sword-making process! And for each of you thats bought in - then we're just that much closer to YOUR sword!!! WoooHoooooo! Coming atcha!!!
I hope this is not getting stale, but once again, Thanks for your patience, concern and good wishes!
and Thanks, Edward... everybody can use a little extra conscience every now and then, eh?

Hey, Travis! Engraving what was originally an etched pattern has turned into a bit more of a challenge than I had anticipated... I want to be happy with the results before I share photos. And I will be, it is working itself out... just ain't quite there yet. The good news is once I've got the necessary technique totally nailed down, the process should move a lot faster.
The health is pretty good! Thanks for asking, Bro. Not pain-free, but then who is, eh? hahahahahahaha Still working on regaining my former stamina and ferocity, though...

Good to hear, John...on BOTH counts! I've been looking at those last pics of the fittings on the 1st sword a little too much and its got my brain scrambled with anticipation.

John, Sorry to hear about the pain; hopefully it doesn't completely sideline you from your job and your life! Also, I'm glad to hear that this project is moving forward. Like the man said, etching may be easier . . . but the fact that you're *engraving* the blades? Awesome . --Edward

Travis, at least you've got an excuse for your scrambled brains... mine - just - are...hahahhahahaha
Hey Saito - it depends on what you're set up to do... but yeah, I think once you were properly set up to do it right, etching would be easier. But - these are Atlanteans, what's easy got to do with it!??!?!! Hahahahahahaha
Edward, I must quote Patrick Swayze from the beloved classic bad movie "Roadhouse"... "pain don't hurt..." (surely one of the most senseless string of words ever put together from one mouth... hahahahahaha) But, no, its not sidelining me, maybe just constraining my game-time a bit.
But the project continues to move forward. I was waxing poetic earlier about how these swords have emerged from the mists of eons past... I know its beginning to seem like they're taking eons to emerge from the mist of the Greybeardian workshop. I feel it too. But the project does continue to move forward. Hang in there with me!
