That is a beast of a sword with an exquisite color scheme. I've been looking at this one as being the second CF sword I get after the Venetian Bastard Sword, so excellent job on the review.

Haha, I appreciated the shout-out, Dave. Another fantastic review with splendid pictures! I love the way this sword looks! +1. *---In my own defense, with regards to the "claiming povety" and subsequent sword spree this summer , I was lucky enough to come across a few unexpected sources of discretionary income and bonuses after I got back to the states. All of a sudden I ended up with a lot of surprise sword money and...you know how it is. Don't think that'll happen again for quite a while.

Chuckles are good. If anyone wants to see what this sword is capable of "in action" you can see Tom's aforementioned review of the blade's performance here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=111The cutting video is....exciting. After about 3 minutes it becomes stupefying.

well thanks for the kind words guys, I feel like I got them unjustly though. this sword is one amazing cutter. easily the most powerful cutter I have ever swung and the harmonics are ridiculously good.
I absolutely love the colors you picked Dave, your sword is a real beauty.
the more I see of the work Gus, Christian, and now Sonny are doing the more I think there's nothing out there to compete with them. they have had performance monopolized for a long time but now the aesthetics on their swords are starting to at least challenge if not completely beat out all competitors. I am finding increasingly less reason to buy a medieval sword anywhere else.

Welcome Tom, but you have to take SOME of the credit. Sheesh. ^Seriously. Look at this: Then look at this. And you can pick one up for $595, unless you want scabbard to go with it? Are you kidding me? And that's not even from the 'top' line of swords these guys crank out. Unbelievable.

Two years on and I own one now, so much for claiming poverty. This sword is amazing in-hand.

And easy on the eyes to boot. What light through yon wondow breaks? it is the East, and the Austrian Great Sword is the sun. Arise fair sun, and kill the envious moon who is already sick and pale with grief............................ Oh how I covet thee.

I know right who ever owns own it's like having sword gold. I agree I'd trade alot blades and $ for a sword like that just luv that grip and hilt on such a hefty blade. The Kriegschwert is close but there's just something about it. I bet An Alb 13th cent squire great sword would great with a bottle grip like that mmm.
