Unfortunately, no! Something else caught my eye (AKA wallet), and you'll have to wait to see... It won't be what you think, though.

Enkidu that 1326 is a real stunner, different enough to make it grand whilst still looking like a warriors sword.

Hey thanks dave, this idea was on my mind for a while, even before i bought the 1326, in fact i bought it specifically to make it as i had imagined it since it was the existing model the closest to it, and then the turning point came when Christian worked is magic on it he did one heck of a job ! But about being a stunner, thats something i could say of a couple of your blades

Awesome collection man! I won't gush over the AT/CF 1326... everyone else has got that one pretty much covered... (but it IS AWESOME... there, I said it!) BUT I was wondering is you had any other pics of the "VA practical Longsword custom" apparently part of the "custom part, is the hilt and pommel... and I'd love to get a closer look at what you did and/or maybe get some of the detaisl from you... I like the idea of customizing even the "stock blades" that I purchase to make them more "mine" so any ideas I can get (obviously changed around to suit my tastes) are of great interest to me!

Yeah... but there's a catch with this sword. Tinker finishes his swords with a very high-polish ( which looks awesome by the way ) but this sword is so fun to use that you inevitably scrap the finish in no time, so you got to polish it each and every time you take this sword for a cut. Since its so well balanced you cant put it down... its a vicious circle i tell you !

Thanks, i got it a year ago and did the customizing a couple of weeks after it landed home. Yep, i did some work on the handle, it shows better here: Thats really a nice sword for the price, but it screams to be customized somehow, its a brutal sword to handle so i wanted to get it a matching look. Thanks for the comments.

By far the nicest one is your KC Teutonic. Really nice piece I think it looks like it would handle with a lot of ease. How would you say it feels. I don't usually like european swords but honestly, I'd buy that.

Its really an interesting piece. I cant say it handles like an ATrim but its quite easily maneuverable with one hand and well balanced. It also packs quite a punch for such a ''nimble'' sword. Trusting is so-so, its really more suited for cutting. RickWilly made a spot-on review of this sword a while back, you can find it in the old site review archives. That review is definitely worth watching. The factory edge was perfect, it is peened and feel solid as a rock. Even the polishing job is above what we see at this price point. The scabbard and the handle wrap were some sempriniesque pieces of crap let me tell you. But Brian Kunz got his magic working on this and he came up with something really good. I was the lucky one who got his first integral scabbard ( second in fact, he made one for himself before doing this one ). That said, KC just got a new version of this sword out, it looks so good that i even considered getting one. You cant see this new version anywhere, not on KoA site or even on KC site, but one of our fellow SBG'er got one lately, go have a look, you'll see what i mean : viewtopic.php?f=6&t=239&start=450 (middle of the page, small vignettes ) And let me know what you think !

Enkidu, that GSoW looks great, for some reason I just think of it as how the Kurgen sword should have been big and brutish.

I see you too are a Cold Steel Kriegsmesser's owner, Enkidu.. It is a low-end piece but there's something to it that captivates the butcher lurking inside of me. If only there were less tang failure reports! How do feel yours? Hacked something in half lately with that? PS: The first Atrim is really gorgeous..a bit too gaudy for my tastes, but fascinating nonetheless!

Yeah, but the Kurgan IMO would have needed a more contemporary look, something more like a modern tool. But the big and brutish look is exactly what i was after while making this little bit of customization. Its a good sword for the price, i wanted to first get rid of its awful original look then give it look that gives an impression of how it feels to handle that sword. It feels brutal

Thanks for the ATrim, i totally understand about the gaudy comment, but i personally think it shows a good balance between the utilitarian and the show off styles. Anyhow the real fun about this sword is the handling The CS Messer is a good exemple of CS stuff. It looks good but handles like crap. We've heard a couple of things regarding Cold Steel swords falling apart, i may have been lucky but my Great sword and my messer have been through some serious abuse and except a couple of scratches on the blade they still hold fine. The blades are extremely solid and well tempered. I've cut wooden blinds to shred with the Messer and no looseness or significant damage whatsoever. My only complains with it is the handling, it feels dead in hands, balance is off and also the pommel... thats a seriously stupid design they put down there. Its a screw on pommel but the tread is so short that it can fall off without having to make one complete turn on itself. The scales are riveted to the blade, so its not a security issue, but its still one hell of a stupid pommel attachment idea.

I like the work you did on your GSOW. It looks really authentic! I like your collection Enkidu, it looks "mature". Do you practice medieval fencing? You could come practice with us, we have a cutting day in October where we test our blades on a lot of pumpkins  .

Funny that's pretty much what I thought. When I saw the customized GSOW I thought of Kurgen.
You have a great collection Enkidu. Every single sword you have I would like to own. Even the Cold Steel swords. Both are the only CS models I have ever been interested in.
