Greetings... A few times... maybe 4-5 times.. I've made a post... then gone on and read a couple other threads... then noticed my post does not exist. Its not in the thread, not anywhere else either. Vanashing Posts. Anyone else have this happen to them? What might cause this?

I use IE. I know, I know... you don't have to say it.

Unfortunately for the lot of us... Sean has not yet managed to acquire the armoer of his dreams. I am dying for better pictures as well. And I use I.E. as well and have not had a single issue with the new forum. :?: Weird... your posts shall come back to haunt us in years to come, I'm sure, popping up when least expected. A post of yours about the S.W.O.R.D. game, for instance, might decided to join in on a thread about some poor kid's new waster... and SBG shall never, ever, be the same again... MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! -Slayer

I have some other pics of the armour floating around here somewhere. Someday, it will be mine... oh yes, it will be mine.

So I've been told... I'm just lazy. IE was on my computer when I got it... and has sat there for the 7 years I've had this PC.

I've had this happen a couple times as well. I am not sure what the culprit could be other than a problem with IE as already noted. I think I am switching to chrome on my home computers.

If you are posting in an existing thread and someone replies in the thread before you hit the submit button on your post, you get a prompt telling you that a new post has been posted in the thread once you hit submit. It then asks if you want to modify your post due to a new reply and shows you the new content in the thread. You then have the chance to modify your post in the light of new info in the thread or hit submit to post it anyways.
If you miss that prompt, and hit the back key, or the forum index button to return to the forum, you will lose your post.

That sound like what I did when I lost my post! I struggle with change.

Good info, Chuck! I had that modify thing pop up a couple times... I merely assumed that I had clicked 'full editer' by accident instead of 'submit'. And now we know. Thanks! -Slayer

No problem guys, just working through the new format myself.
I've had that exact thing happen a few times to myself, and was like :?:
Once I read the darn thing and saw what was going on, I was like Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh now I see.

I saw that Chuck, but I don't think that's the problem. I have an idea as to what the problem is tho... after I submit the post while its doing the 'wait' thing sometimes I just click on the board index and move on, not wanting to be directed back to that thread and my new post and now wanting to twiddle my thumbs while I wait. I think maybe if I do that to fast the new post dose not post.

Ahhh, that would make sense. If you don't wait for the "successfully submitted" prompt you may very well have posts floating out there in interwebz land.
Perhaps they land at random boards, such as Basket Crafting, or Secrets of Amazon Head Shrinking, and there are some puzzled folks out there

also the submit button is on the left of the quick post and on the right of the full editor. I often find I have clicked "review" instead of "submit" and then I move on to a new thread or forum area losing what I had written. maybe this is what you are doing too?
oh yea and there's also that feature that automatically gives you a preview if someone posts while you are typing but that at least tells you at the top that a post came in. . . but if you aren't paying attention you might just think some1 beat you in.
