Classifieds Rules - READ BEFORE LISTING!
•No Professionals: Retailers & wholesalers are restricted from listing items in this section. This applies to any merchandise, including (but not limited) to any swords & services, tools, martial arts equipment, ect.. Overstocked & discontinued items are no exception. Such businesses can be accommodated elsewhere on the forum and on SBG, but the Classifieds is strictly for SBG Forumites who are looking to sell some of their excess armory.
•Pricing: Any & all items being listed for sale or trade must be listed with a set price. *This includes shipping costs* Attempting to auction items (3rd party or otherwise) is strictly forbidden, no exceptions. OBO - (Or Best Offer) is still acceptable, so long as it is accompanied by a set sale price. Sellers should be clear about what their preferred method of payment for the item/s is, as well as inform the buyer as to what carrier the item/s will be shipped through.
•Listing: If you are the seller, clearly describe the item being sold, including any suspected or known flaws or defects, regardless of origin. *Be honest* Even if there is a defect or blemish from the manufacturer, or the items previous owner, there is no excuse not to disclose that information to the party you are selling it to.
*We suggest you Provide Proof of Ownership: Images clearly showing the item for sale as well as a note displaying username and current date may be provided. But this is no longer required.
•Linking: Listing or linking items from 3rd party sites such as ebay or Craigslist are strictly prohibited. Any links to items (active or ended) on these services will be deleted immediately. This includes linking of items on other forums from their respective classifieds or sales sections.
•Follow Up: Once the sale is completed, seller should be sure to follow up by notifying people that the item has been sold, and thus close off the thread. This is a simple courtesy that takes only a few seconds, and ultimately keeps people from needlessly wasting time trying to procure items that are no longer available.
•Be Respectful: Questions about the item/s that are being sold or traded are more than welcome, but please stay on topic. Disrupting someones sales thread is rude, and no matter how innocent the intentions are, it could affect that persons ability to sell their item/s. Any discussing or chatting about things not somehow related to the item at hand will be deleted. Likewise, any haggling and the like should be dealt with via PM.
*The sale or trade of firearms and certain firearm-related accessories in the SBG classifieds is strictly prohibited. Prohibited items include: antique, modern, curios, and replica firearms, as well as projectile signaling devices (flare guns, mortars, grenade launchers, etc.), ammunition, high-capacity magazines, black powder, tannerite, any type of restricted/regulated firearm part (receivers, sears, silencers, etc.), or any other item or accessory which is deemed related to firearms as determined by moderator staff. The sale of these items are strictly regulated by local, state, federal, and international law - and though they may not be prohibited/restricted in a prospective buyer's area - SBG does not condone the classifieds to be used the sale, trade, or transfer of any such items. Ads which are posted are subject to immediate deletion. Any attempt to sell or trade firearms or firearm-related products can result in formal warnings or account suspension/removal.
DISCLAIMER
Sword Buyers Guide is not responsible for any of the sales that go on within this area. All sales are at your own risk. SBG will not mediate between sellers and buyers.
Be smart about how you execute a sale. Take measures to find out if a seller has an established reputation for selling items. Take a look at a member's profile. See how long that person has been a member here and/or if that person contributes regularly. See if you find any complaints about said member with previous transactions done here.
If you are the seller, please be certain that goods are delivered in the time frame that was promised and that you represent your item in the most sincere and accurate manner possible. Take measures to describe any flaws or damage your item may exhibit. It is in your best interest to portray your item accurately.
Seller must clearly state if item is not currently in physical possession. If it is not, then there must be a clearly stated reason(i.e. receiving repairs/customization).
We want to make sure all of you who use this board to sell and buy merchandise do so in an intelligent manner. Do some research before dealing with a person you know little about. We don't want to see any of you involved in a bad trade.
All SBG forum members understand that they must be 18 years old or older before buying, selling, and trading items/services in the classifieds.
