+1 fallschirmjager. May we receive what you await. And soon.
I'd probably be an old machete. I can do lots of things, but none of them very well..... basically sturdy - but not much to look at.

Dunno. Taking everything into account, I'd have to say a somwhat plain XVIIIc with a busted tip. Maybe something with a little flair but generally no-frills. Other than that, maybe a targe?

A great group of guys there Fallschirmjager. I am always happy to see that some of the ¨new¨ generation are still willing to take up the sword and protect us here at home.
Please express to them my gratitude for their Service.

I'd probably be a Leatherman multi tool.
I'm a little stiff at the joints, but able to fix or put together just about anything. Yet can still be used as a weapon if the need arises.

You got some good arrows in your quiver there, Fallschirmjager. Always nice to hear deep words.

Oh, and I'd probably be the biggest, meanest, flashiest stainless steel William Wallace knockoff SLO claymore anyone ever saw. Why? Well, cause people tell me I look like a hard-as-nails tough guy, but in reality, I'm a humongous sissy.

ancient, but still sharp; mostly a working tool but handy in a dust-up. Oh yeah, and ought to be hanging under a palm tree somewhere...

I think I would be something like an southeastern asian machete ; lean with a simple grace, made for hard, honest work in peace yet also made to be swift and vicious in conflict. My Sons...not by blood but by Love...They are truly 'Swords of Valor' for each their own reasons and I am Proud to introduce them as such, left to right Erin...my youngest daughters beau...fighting diabetes...he is so young Paul...just returned US Army Combat Infantryman, wounded in action,Iraq fallschirmjager...A Proud Dad on a Happy Memorial Day 2010 Justin...just returned USMC Special Operations Combat Marine, 4 years active duty, 2 hard corps tours in the worst province's of Iraq, my oldest daughters beau My 3 Sons...ALL Swords of Valor...that is what they are Thanks to ALL of you, your kind words, it means a lot Man, your two last posts here are deep. You and your family have my admiration and respect for having been on the field of battle. +1 To you, a small honor when compared to the dangers of war.

Thinking.... most likely a battered, beaten, plain as day bowie knife, roach belly blade, or corn knife - nothing fancy just enough to get your attention, but the rust has been kept off and the edge maintained so this tool still has a lot of work left in him. The few cracks in the handle show this piece might have seen some non-work duty a time or two. The blade might even look a little pretty if somebody polished it up right but a working tool through and through.

A bar mace that's been in the river a while. A little rusty, kind of big and clumsy, not much to look at....but not something you would care to face in hostility, either. My kids tell me that I'm "...blunt and bloody, like a well used bludgeon!"

I'd be this custom A&A Rapier: www.armor.com/custom936.htmlFast, slim and little bit flashy. Built for the stage. Perfectly suited for swashbuckling adventure or badass civilian attire. Created with the dual concepts of artistic expression and brutal lethality in mind, but very unlikely to injure or maim in reality. It's one of those swords where when a lady looks at your collection she goes "Ooh, I like THAT one." ;D

If I were a sword, I'd have to be an unexpected blade from a gendai smith. Something that had turned out to be much better than anyone had expected--a surprise to the smith as well as the one who commissioned the blade. A shinogi-zukuri with good lines, but needed the attention of a good polisher to bring out the full potential, to reveal a much harder and sharper edge than anyone expected. I'd be a blade that could look at home in shirasaya, or in late Edo period mounts, but always simple.

If I was a sword, I guess I would be a type XIV. Short, but well built, a little ugly, practical, not flashy,

i think i would be a wickedly sharp muramasa nihonto because i may look reserved, calm and all but when someone draws me i'm going all out for a drop of blood (only if someone mess with me of course no need to unsheath a blade if there is no threat right ;D )
