lol Sean, and Zach swoops in to rub the sword in your face! ;D
I agree that the sword is not at all Conan-ish (though to be fair, the Atlantean wasn't either, but at least it was beautiful). The Celtic Wolf on the other hand, is gorgeous. I'd rather see it as Longclaw in Song of Ice and Fire, though.

I really think the Celtic Wolf deserves better than the new Conan. However, Brenno has already made something which in my eyes would be perfect....

The problem is they have tried to make a different looking sword from what we all know and love in order to MERCHANDISE the hell out of it. It's all about the $$- nowadays every single aspect of a movie is nitpicked and dissected with the intention of boosting sales of related products, so more money can be lifted from the wallets of the masses. To do this they had to differentiate this sword from the classic one and other popular interpretations of Conans sword. 'Course that means moving away from everything that makes sense about a sword suitable for Conan.
I long for the days where movies were just made to be good, and the money came after...
I don't really have a problem with remakes because every culture in history always retells the same stories- it's human nature. What I want to know is why is it ok, even a good thing, when a live play is redone over and over again (ex. any Shakespeare, phantom, etc.) but if it's a filmed movie people just hate that it's being redone?
