I was never a fan of Japanese....anything really. Swords, history, but especially anime....bleh! So, anime swords are obviously not something of interest to me, but I couldn't help but post this when I saw this video. This is what gives genuine sword lovers, and genuine swords, a bad name -Quinn

Ugh... Thank GOD that stupid giant peice of steel didn't break lose and lodge itself into one of that kids punk ass friends as opposed to the tree... Yup, these guys are playing with a few cards missing from their deck. On a side note, it always bothers me when people attack trees with swords... guess thats makes me a granola eating hippie or something, but I just don't see the point.

More that I dislike people attacking and killing trees for no reason... just like I dislike 'sport' hunting. Cut down a tree to build a house, make firewood, whatever, cool... hack up and cut at a tree just for the f**k of it? Not cool.

Firt thing that came to my mind too, Sean. Why the hell are they cutting that tree?
Second thought: That blade could snap and hit one of the idiots standing right there.
Third thought: Hmmmm....would that be a real big loss to society?

Third thought: Hmmmm....would that be a real big loss to society? Heh... no, but it would still be a bad thing. Here is an analogy. My house is not worth much since the market collapsed... the market collapsed largely because of sub-prime mortgages and people buying WAY more house then they could afford. Then, those same people let those homes go into foreclosure en-mass... and the market took a huge dump. When my wife and I bought our house, we were pre-approved for well over 3 times the amount that we ended up spending. We could have bought a giant palace like many of the other people we know did. We did not, however... we bought only what we needed. Why? Because we are practical, sensible... we knew what we could afford comfortably and didn't want to extend all the way out... we did what your supposed to do, act sensable with your money, not take on more then you can handle. And yet now... our house is de-valued because of the market being full of idiots who did NOT do what they should have done... and not spend more then they can afford. Lame. The parallel here is... if idiots like these guys go around swing 'swords' and end up killing or maiming each other... WE as sword collectors get to suffer when people are outraged and start taking steps to restrict what we can buy. Lame.

Trees and animals should NEVER be a target of recreation. Survival is one thing, but we have our houses, and we have our food. Leave the damn trees alone, or one day they're gonna kick your ass.....just sayin And I agree with Shadow.

Stupididity at its worse!! On a side note, it always bothers me when people attack trees with swords... guess thats makes me a granola eating hippie or something, but I just don't see the point. I’m with you on this one; to me it’s akin to graffiti or vandalism. Its destroying something of beauty, for no reason other then your own pleasure and denying that beauty to others.

Look at the sword very closely JUST before it hit the tree. You can see that the blade was already coming out of the handle before it struck the tree. Had the tree NOT been there, it could have flown out and hit one of the other two people there.
***EDIT*** Hell, you can hear the sword coming out of the handle before you hear the *thunk* of the sword hitting the tree. They might have done this on purpose.

You don't have to be a granola eating bunny hugging hippie to condemn what those jackholes were up to.
I wonder how funny it would have been if I had rammed them with a flat black 69 Nova while hollering "I'm Stuntman Mike Mo********er"
If I owned that tree. I'd deal him a knot on his forehead for every growth ring in it.

It's the idiots like these guys that give responsible sword owners a bad name. wouldn't be surprised if they're next vid is "lets use our super anime ninja powers to stop a blade in full swing with our hands" (clap style).......... How about these wing-nuts..... "When Idiots Fight with Electrified Swords" aka the human S'mores

You don't have to be a granola eating bunny hugging hippie to condemn what those jackholes were up to. please avoid using this politically incorrect statement... we dont want to offend our local hippy Liam. on the real side i agree with all the above statements, especially with the one about how society would restrict us from what we can buy do to these clowns. why on earth do f'ups like this buy swords and try to use them with no training. damned... even we have a law that says take motorcycle training before getting motorcycle licence. we all do dumb things, but that doesnt have to include buying high priced car insurance... that commercial should include this video.

Idiocy crosses all socio economic, political, and ethnographic boundaries. Hippies and Bikers alike are pissed at those tweedle dinks in that video.
