I can barely contain myself. Today i received my VA Longsword from AoV and I started freaking out SO bad I started giggling like a little school girl.......*cough*cough*...I mean pounded my chest with pride and victory!
With all this excitement I don't even know what first to do with it!

what to do first, hmmmm that's a toughie. you could: swing it around your living room and put a huge gouge in that old grandfather clock take a nap with it stroke it up and down the blade cutting you hand badly hold it in front of you like it is a cross and pretend you are going on the crusades take a nice picture of you and it together take it into the back yard and cut some water filled milk jugs watch your favorite sword movie with it in the scabbard next to you never part from its side and love it always.
ok before you think I'm teasing you too much please understand that I have done most of those things and in some cases I have the scars to prove it.
in all seriousness, congrats you sure picked a nice one for your first whatever you end up doing with it please do it safely and enjoy.

Congratulations! Here's the best part, if you're anything like me and I suspect most of the guys here, it will feel nearly this cool every time you get a new sword. Although, nothing beats the first one. Enjoy it, it's always cool to hear about someone getting their first sword.

Along those lines I would like to list the above that I have done. swing it around your living room and put a huge gouge in that old grandfather clocktake a nap with it stroke it up and down the blade cutting you hand badlyhold it in front of you like it is a cross and pretend you are going on the crusades take a nice picture of you and it together take it into the back yard and cut some water filled milk jugs watch your favorite sword movie with it in the scabbard next to you (really love doing this) never part from its side and love it always.

Congratulations! Looks like you made a good choice, too. i have to echo what Slack said, it's always fun. Just be sure to take good care of it. Rust is a very nasty & pernicious thing.

...I sleep with my swords too. 0_o Have you been copying me?
The 'never part from its side' part is a bit hard if your workplace doesn't condone of carrying around weaponry, don't 'cha think?
*Whoops, I forgot to say congrats. Congrats on your first sword, eggman!

You have no idea how awesome you'll feel with a naked sword and shield in hand. Well done on the decision for the 304s to be your first. But if you are like me, you may get a little spoiled and your comparison against other swords will have set a very high bar.
It's not a bad thing really, it's better then spending $1,000 on passable swords before you finally got a good one.

watch your favorite sword movie with it in the scabbard next to you I am glad that I'm not the only one who has done this. Grats on your first blade, friend! First of many I'm sure. Mike

And if so, they'd probably be lying. Congratz eggman84! That's a most excellent choice. And a shield to go with it. Great choices!

We all know we really did those things and arent saying this for the show right ? We are a curious bunch of people... fascinating, they should do a documentary on us and the backyard cutting subculture

Congrats, Eggman! ;D So watching TV shows or movies with swords and axes on the coffee table so you can pick them up and wave them threateningly at the bad guys on the screen sometimes, or thrust them straight up in the air while yelling YES! when the good guys win isn't that weird... Good to know ;D

Glad to see someone who took the leap to good quality blades on their first try. If you're also into Japanese swords, be sure to apply DOUBLE the research before you buy one. And ask lots of questions.
