Hello, all! My grandfather lives but 2 hours' scenic drive from CS in Ventura, CA (I'm in PA). He and my aunt, who was visiting, attended the CS parking lot sale last Saturday. I wasn't sure what to expect, but got some tips from the forum, made a wish list including the best prices I could get online (to tell if they were getting good deals or not), pics of the desired items, and tips from those who had attended before. I was working with a client when I found that with my approximately $300 limit: Grosse Messer-$120 Shamshir-$100 1796 Light Cavalry Saber-$100 I almost passed out! I also bought a trail hawk for $20 They later told me that, as ultra-mega-combined-birthday-X-mas presents, my aunt picked up a Scottish Dirk, and my Grandfather got me an 1860 Heavy Cavalry Saber. I had been hoping for 1-2 items that were pretty fair deals. No idea things would go this well. We are finding out about shipping today. How am I going to deal with the waiting?

sounds like a good haul, congrats. considering what CS asks for their swords at their web site those prices are really low.

One of the items I was hoping to get was the Horseman's Basket Hilt, after your review and vids of it, I really dig that sword, but I didn't want to pay $250 for it (trueswords is now out of stock). I was amazed at what they wound up with. Now, I can't figure out whether to pony up for expidited shipping or not. I also am unsure of whether to use UPS or FedEx.
