I bought this sword because ichiban recommend it, i was skeptical at first huawei, china, ebay, katana barely 100 feedback in ebay was a no go or i need enough thinking time so i can go from my part, anyway i went ahead and took a shot in the dark. Bought it for a project sword which i want to do for a very long time..
Anyway long story short....
I receive mine the other day and i can tell you that i am very please with the sword so far, the blade is great very beefy for the shape and feels very solid, i think it can handle medium and some heavy targets without a problem alot of blade presence on this katana XD (like the df shobu). The polish is VERY nice for the cost too. It came in a styrofoam wrapped with alot of tape nothing fancy and no carboard but it was fine in this end.
It have a T10 clayed shobu description but to me dont look as a shobu perse at all, it looks like a shinogi but the tip is smaller (compared with my df musashi) lets said is a mix between shobu and shinogi (i like it tho). It would be perfect for those people that are always sempriniing about kissakis, there is a untouched one make it yourself XD. Im not planning to touch the tip at all.
The blade dont have mekugi holes in the nakago so i have to dig those, i dont know to dig one or two yet.. Need to do some work on this project blade which to be a first not bad at all..
He sent me 2 tsukas one of them dont fit but now i know why he sent it, the samegawa on it as i request, he sent me one that fits perfect on
the blade, i think this one was made for this katana because the fit is perfect and its not cracked XD. The saya is the regular plain black one but it dont rattle and the blade fits just perfect on it and i plan to paint it anyway XD.
I am very happy with my purchase and of all the katanas i had bought, i think this is the one i am most happy with so far, specially for the price.. Planning on buying again from them, i just hope they dont go down the hill like other manufacturers when they start taking more prestige..
For $120 (without s&h), very nice for a bare blade with hamon and is a very solid katana. The seller is open to customizations... Now i need to learn the basics of customization by myself XD.
Here are some shots i took, in some of the shots you gonna see the blade scratched. I used a led flashlight and the camera flash in another to highlight the imperfections that the bare eye cannot see, you will be surprise what this led light can do for you. Try to use it when you dust something and you will be amazed that you didnt dust at all XD. This was for the sole purpose of showing you guys everything XD.
I also took shots using a mirror on the background so you can notice the level of polish on the sword, say hi to the birdies. I also use the dynasty forge shobu to compare the tip on this one. For the note, the HDTV is 10 feet away from the katana and some of the shots were taken in the dark.
Later i add more pictures and add and edit some information...
Make it look more decent...
