Fox. I like many types of swords, except those with short grips and or small or non-existant hand guards. I still have more katana than other types, but I am building up my Euros after discovering all of the great blades out there ;D

That's a good one. I like them all but know very little about any! ;D So maybe a hedgefox........... but a lobotomy. I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy!

I still think "Shiny" is code word for "You are foxy, bay-by!" Careful talking bout sean's missus like that, he has the swords he will find you How about a hedgey foxhog? Also I thought shiny hoarders were magpies? I want to have at least one of each sword representing each nationality. Failing that an arse load of fable blades! Although in the case of the hedgehog, the hedgehog can never be buggered at all

I understand what your saying but I must disagree, shiny represents new, clean, pristine, sterile, where as rusty represents old, used, occasionally abused, whether it is a sword or motorcycle or whatever, the perfectly preserved chrome show bike that never gets ridden has no interest for me, but the dirty well worn scratched up leaking one with all the miles on it, to me, is a piece or art, the same applys to swords

(Nah, I don't do that.) As you said, I understand what you're saying . . . but my take was somewhat different. I realize that the most common usage of shiny does imply new, clean, etc. I was using it more in the sense of "anything that catches the eye." And I agree about the attractiveness of well worn items! My general preference is for swords, guns, kilts, sneakers, etc., that have had some of the "new" knocked off of them. Sometimes when I'd get new running shoes, I'd loathe them until I'd got them sufficiently muddy.

If you'd ever had a pet ferret you'd know how bad they are about stealing things that grab they're attention. I had ones that stole my socks, car keys, wallet even my shoes. The trick is to find where they hide their stash but never take everything out of it or they'll move it and you have to find it all over again.

And they can be pretty ambitious, my little girl Sonja used to try and drag off things that were easily 5-10x her body weight. Pretty funny to watch actually.

MINE?!Nothing describes me better too bad that I can't get it all YES! Best character EVER! I love the gulls from Finding Nemo. ;D I'm more of a hedgehog I think. I tend to focus way in on one thing for years before switching to something else. In fact, that's how I found my way to this site: I got interested in swords years ago when I was 17. I found swordforum.com back then and started devouring all of the info I could find. Then, for my 18th birthday, I broke into my savings and ordered an early Kris Cutlery 29" Katana. When it arrived, I was sorely disappointed. I remember the blade being extremely tip-heavy- to the point that it felt like trying to hold a large axe by the tip of the handle. I remember couldn't even get it swinging fast enough to cut a bottle. I sent back the Kris Cutlery Katana, and used the money to buy an AK47 airsoft gun. Then, I found out that I could have bought a real AK for less than what I payed for the airsoft and suddenly I was desiring a semi-auto AK-101 clone and... Well, here I am, more than ten years later, surfing the net one day, remembering swordforum.com, seeing a reference in a post there to this really cool site for reviews of sub $300 swords... And now I've finally gotten around to getting a real sword. ;D
