I have a video that Youtube is not liking my use of background music and they say it has been blocked in the USA but I can log out and surf to it so I wonder if it is really blocked.
so if you live in the USA could you please take a quick look at this video:
and tell me if it works please?
it is for a review so if it doesn't work I need to upload a replacement that won't get blocked.
hmmm how do I post a poll?
it is from this review if you are interested: /index.cgi?board=swordreviews&action=display&thread=12316&page=1

Tom, when I tried it, it said it was blocked because of copyright issues

Same here hun; wouldn't let me get to it. Label it as education and contest the copyright infringement. Stupid UMG. I have to do that with four of my reptile videos. x.x It works, though. If you need some info on how to word your statement, let me know.

well I am using music that doesn't belong to me and I repect the Artist so I don't think I should contest the copyright policy. maybe I can get the band to give me permission THEN have youtube lift the ban. but I'm not going to try to circumvent copyright. the band earned it fair and square I'm not gonna take it from them.

The first video had like (forgive my thoughts on music, never been one to know much about music) a Southern "New Orleans'y" feel to it? If so, we can hear in CANADA! The second video didn't have any music in and you had some very nice cuts! To prevent problems like this I will open my video editor for a new project, add my song to it with NO video or anything at all, and render it, then post it on youtube, if they block it, I don't use the song. If they don't I Turn up the volume in the video while editing! Get the most out of that song as I can. Cause you never know when they will deny your next (more than likely, Perfect) song and mute your whole video....

Yar, second one shows the video, no problems. The way I circumvent copyright laws is to use music so old that it's considered public domain.

there are crazy laws around that. something like 70 years after the death of the last legitimate hier of the copywrite's third dog but only on tuesdays. copywrite laws are strange and any time you see a fat lawyer you know his specialty.

The way I circumvent copyright laws is to use music so old that it's considered public domain. How old does it have to be? I know most classical/symphony music fits that bill... Please note that while the music score itself might be out of copyright, each individual performance is the copyright of the performers. For example: While all the works by Thomas Tallis (1505-1585) are in public domain, I can't just use a recording by the Tallis Scholars or King's College Choir without the explicit permission of the performers. If I were to perform them myself, then I could use it. Copyright law is complicated and differ from country to country, so if in doubt, consult a local professional.

that copying issue is so funny, there is a lot of music that is blocked like that. just for autors rights.

it's a lake fed by a river. I loved that house for the view and the lake but I had to move out last month, what a shame.
thanks for the compliment on the cutting, that was a pretty good day. have you seen my vid from this Tuesday? that was a fun session.
