At the risk of sounding weird, I have some hot sisters that I'm sure would hold a sword for a calendar shoot. It wouldn't be authentic like all tho's other babe calendars cause unlike the babe mechanics and babe steel workers, my sisters don't ACTUALLY wield a sword. =\

At the risk of sounding too eager, Greg, can you show us a couple pics?

Trust me, Greg, those other babe calendars don't always feature "authentic" workers either. Guys, I think that the problem with the first (only) calendar was that not enough people bought one to make it cost effective. Yeah, this was a problem as I recall. For all the work involved with collecting images, modifying them for printing, arranging and choosing which will be used, and then the actual printing setup, it just wasn't worth the effort for the few that were sold. As I recall it was less than 50. Granted, it was mostly volunteer work, except for the actual printing, but still a fair amount of work. Then I think we had a couple people quit the forum because their photo didn't win! Let's not have another contest please. I bought one before and I'd probably buy another if we do it again. It would be fun but I think it requires a volunteer who has the time, skills, and patience to lead the project to completion. At least this time around there should be enough time to complete it by next year if it's started now! ;D

Yeah, I pouted a little but hey, a fella get all dolled up and then is left hangin. How would you feel?

if it is pretty girls with swords I have some pictures of my daughter that are pretty hot having her decked out in medieval-like dresses and holding swords.
I just MIGHT show them some day. you older guys have to stand back though as she is still only 16.

I know better than to mess with a man who's as astonishingly handy with a blade as you.

hey guys,, why not make a funny (guys) calendar? i said funny,, not sexy eurkkkkkkkkk hahaha But will the humour not arise from the lack of sexiness? I'm just being honest here.... I mean, if we could have a sexy calendar, that would be awesome. It would be a cool promo "buy swords in this one month and receive a free calendar" or summat.

I'm all in favor of a display of actual skill or some such with the sword, rather than just "oh, look at me, I'm so hot...oh and I have a sword" or what have you. Last time we tried this calendar thing, the biggest factor in its failure was the, er...sensitivity of some of our members. Something about objectifying women or whatever. Big stink. On the other hand, still shots of members sparring, cutting, modeling period-based gear...that, I think, would hold much more support. And if we get too many entries, we can just collage 'em into the months. That way, nobody feels "left out" and such. Oh and Tom, it's normal for fathers to think the world of their daughters...but down boy; the creepy vibe is a-risin' high. (jklol etc.)

The sexiness of the calendar could arise from the displays of swordsmanship. I second this plan!

Indeed. I think we can all agree that even Rick can make us swoon with his swordwork. ...Nothing against Rick. Nevertheless, I just think (as did several in the original planning) that perhaps a more serious calendar would be better. Something that actually shows what we are, what we do...not what we drool over.

...you older guys have to stand back though as she is still only 16. ;D lol. Dare I ask... pics? Just sayin'... I agree that a overall weapon-themed calander with shots of sparring, etc, would be best. As much as I might WANT to see the gorgeous sword-wielding gals, it's a bit too controversal for SBG, methinks. Besides, this way even I could submit a pic! ;D ('cause there's no way I'd be as dumb -I mean, BRAVE!- as Ric. ) What do you guys think about sword-only pics, where it's just the sword with a cool background? -Slayer

The swords by themselves, I think, would be a bit too simple. It'd look like some manufacturer (ie. Hanwei) calendar, rather than a forum or other community.
I like the idea of members.

I think the idea of cutting shots will be hard to pull off. Cutting VIDS are easy. You set up a camera, step into view, and start cutting. Still shots are going to be MUCH harder to do. You'll need a very good quality camera capable of fast shots, and a skilled fellow photographer to take them. Vid caps will be of too low a quality to use. Also, personally, I think still shots of cutting a bottle or a mat would be a yawner. Pics of members posing with swords in garb or whatever would be much easier to do by yourself. Not a bad idea, but is it going to sell better than the hot babes we did? I think not. JMHO.

I had a feeling I'd set myself up on that one. I dunno, I've seen some pretty awesome still shots here in the past, that were pretty good quality. The one ShooterMike showed, though I forget if it was him in the picture or behind the camera...it may have been a girlfriend cutting? Either way, the camera perfectly caught the explosion of water that just obscured the cutter's face, with the sword still in the frame. That picture's stuck with me for some time.

Oh and Tom, it's normal for fathers to think the world of their daughters...but down boy; the creepy vibe is a-risin' high. (jklol etc.) Eh, i gotta second that. People talking about their "hot sisters" & "hot daughter" is a little creepy. Its one thing to say "i have a cousin who's hot" or something (and even that's a little weird), but immediate family? Maybe i am being too sensitive, but i don't think so.
