After seeing this, though it is a different sword steel and maker, it seems that the geometry of the Shobu cannot withstand the same damage as a normal.
I'd still like to get a second opinion from someone though.
Here's the vid:

Not commenting on tip design now, I just HATE heavy swords and seriously, if you want a beast get an O-katana. Also, do you want to stab through a wall? No? Then the shobu works just fine. The musha wouldn't stab through a wall either . Really, I'd get the raptor in the design you want. Do you want a light and fast sword or a heavy, slow cutting machine? Both had their place in history and you need to decide what you want. Whatever design you get, I'd chose the Raptor over Musha anyday. Personally I'm very fond of he Maru Zukuri because it has a back edge and should be a very fast, light cutting sword. If you want a heavy cutting machine get the shobu or the Unokubi Zukuri.

Well, actually neither the raptor shobu or Unokubi are that heavy. The DF is.

Finally! I have decided! XD Thanks to everyone that helped me to figure out which may be best for what I need. The final result is: Destiny Forge's Musha!
Reasons for choice: 1. Most recommended. 2. Extremely durable. 3. Made from 1060 Spring Steel. 4. Dynasty Forge has made a good name for itself within the community. 5. Is No-Hi 6. Slightly heavy, but not to much. More sturdy feel. 7. Not themed as the Raptor is with birds. (actually Musashi themed) 8. Runs for only $225. 9. Aesthetically beautiful yet still very functional, sharp blade. 10. Won't be mad at me if I happen to make a bad cut. XP
Thanks everyone that helped me with deciding, greatly appreciated! Hopefully sometime down the line, I can put my 2 cents in for others. ;3

Congrats on the decision and your choice of vendors.
Just remember not to be overconfident on any swords ability to stand up to abuse. Any sword can fail and the odds of it happening go up if you loose sight of that fact.
Cut safe friend!

Just a small tip- If it's your first sword, and you have yet to learn how to cut properly, i'd go for the musha with bo-hi (infact, i did myself when i bought my musha) The presence of tachi-kaze will slowly help you learn proper edge alignment. Also, i join BW's advice of getting a boken first, it's cheap, and could save you trouble when you start using sharpies.
Putting that aside- Good choice, i'm sure you'll like it.

Thanks for the advice, and it's not my first. More like my 3rd and they both have bo-his, but I will say this one was more throughly researched before purchase compared to the others.
