Might be a SBG discount; you could pm Midori to see (SwordNArmory is her username), it is her and her significant other's shop, I believe.

Lol, hey guys, Actually, Midori Kurogami is my screenname; it's my personal user account. SwordNArmory is the company account and I'm not the only one who has access to it. Hyoujinsama and I do not own the company; rather, we're both employees here. If it's coupon codes you're after, subscribe to our newsletter! It's on the left-hand side of www.swordnarmory.com in the margin underneath all the categories. You get a 5% off coupon just for signing up, and we have weekly specials. Hope this helps! ^_^; -Midori Kurogami of Sword N Armory.

it DOES actually, I think I must subscribe to that. I have to admit I usually don't pay much attention to your main web page as it is so terribly busy and so many of you categories include SLO's I just tend to zero in on whatever one thing it is I'm looking for and ignore the rest. sorry. . .

No apology necessary and no offense taken, my friend. I understand and agree. However...we will have something new and VERY interesting launching very soon and I hope you all will be watching for it. It will be nice and it's a project we've invested a lot of time and energy into and are really proud of. I hope you guys like it as much as we do.

I had a look at you swords again today and I have to admit, I'm considering selling my Masurao (Destiny Blades) waki so I can buy a Bonsai waki from you guys. that is one nice looking waki, and it has a proper length tsuka too. I might go for a different tsuba though . . . emperor nodes on the samegawa, proper tsuka length, iron tsuba, properly alternating maki (I'm assuming since you have Kevin) for the price you guys are offering. yeah I'm impressed. wish I had taken more time to look at that one when I was there. I still don't have a good wakizashi. now if only you had one with a geometric yokote I think I'd be your slave . . . hint hint HINT!
still gotta pay off one debt though. I HATE owing money.

let me know when you get the geometric yokote figured out. that is what I really want. so far the swords I saw when I was there had pretty much everything I wanted except a geometric yokote. I will NOT buy another Shinogi Zukuri unless it has a geometric yokote. I expect it to cost more than one that doesn't have it. I'm ok with that.

Sword N Armory is a class act all the way when it comes to customer service but the web site can be a little low rent with all the SLO's. (I gather you're talking about a change for the web site?) You're already one of my "go-to" places; when I'm looking for a sword you're one of the places I check first to see if you have it and what your price is, but I'll look forward to seeing any changes you make. As for the newsletter I don't usually sign up for things like that but maybe I should...

Okay, so here's your first surprise: And the link: www.swordnarmory.com/Munetoshi-True-Tatami-Omote-Mats-Tameshigiri-p/m-688.htmYup, it's traditional tatami omote, and it's quite a challenge to cut. It's the same stuff that's cut at dojos and competitions, as well as made into flooring. The best part, though, is that it's $4.98, which is maybe a dollar more expensive than a beach mat! ;D And there are many more surprises to come! -Midori Kurogami of Sword N Armory.

yup that's the good stuff right there. same sort of mat as formerly carried by Mugen Dachi. I cut a few of these at SwordNrmory when I visited earlier this month the I can attest that they are exactly the same kind of mat as previously sold by Mugen Dachi AND interestingly enough while I was out on the town with Jen and Kev we found some of these mat in a japanese store all trimmed up with boarders ready to be applied to the tatami fooring mat. If I get my terms right the tatami is the hard board mat that is thick and goes on the floor and the tatami omote is this woven rush mat that we like to roll up and cut.

is it free shipping?

oh boy what a deal that would be. I'm going to doubt that. shipping usually costs as much if not more than the tatami omote itself. $4.98 per mat is what I was paying AFTER shipping from Nihonzashi but that was on a box of 20 mats and not just one. I'm hoping SNA will end up with a price of $5 or less per mat after shipping (when buying a full box anyway, can't expect the price that low on single mats)
