Soooo.... about those Windlass arming swords... I really like the Ulfberht and the Type XIV. But there are several others that work well too. I think the key thing is to get them properly sharpened. And to make sure the hilt components stay tight.

The Munich looks like a nice build overall but look at the Museum Replicas pictures them selves regarding fit and finish. They sure don't lie that the picture for that one show a grip off center to the pommel. Like many, it may be luck of a draw to get a good one instead of what I would list as a blem.

one thing I would pay close attention to is weight. some of them are super heavy. right about the same time I did my review on the Late Spanish Sword someone else did a review on the Early Spanish sword and it was almost 4 pounds I think. I strongly suggest looking at reviews I also think the Late Spanish Sword would prove to be one of the better performers, if you can accept the odd hilt design.

yeah, the Ulfberht was well liked too but it will be even harder to find. Indeed... I have not seen one for sale in ages... mine, which I traded a while back, is comming back home to me as a result of a recent trade. Yes... daddy missed you... come home to daddy.... ' ;D I think I called DIBS on this one didn't I, Sean? If you ever need to rid yourself of it again, that one will be the very last Windlass I ever buy again. Evar.
