Haha, lol. Thanks for not ripping me to shreds, guys. ;D My pitch? Naive, stupid, far-fetched, and 100% honest. Did I mention, original? Brenno- Let me go read it, just to make sure that it's not TOO stupid, lol. And cool idea about the knife! I did want a sword length blade, though, although my tastes now would be VERY appreciative of said knife. Did I mention that the Edward of Euphrania is STILL in my top few swords I want? I hope it's still around by the time I have some $ (or has it already sold? ) ;D ___________________________________________________ EDIT: I just read the email, and 'wow' pretty much sums it up. That must have been the stupidest thing I ever wrote, although at the time I was completely believing everything I said. It's incredibly stupid... although the benefits were, admittedly, quite good. ;D (Brenno introducing me to the forums, which I didn't even know SBG had at that point, and allowing me to buy a few FB's legitimately. ) Ok... give me just ONE good reason that I should post something so horrendously embarrassing, and I'll do it myself. ;D C'mon.... really. Here's hoping that you can't think of anything! ;D -Slayer

Damn, I think I've seen fewer emoticons when chatting with animé fangirls who were hopped-up on caffeine, sugar, and adrenaline! ; Regarding the actual topic though, in the future you might want to contact the Screen Actors' Guild to check on what the best practices are for this sort of thing. My previous roommate was (well is) an actress and the only film projects on which there was any pro bono work were generally student films. In fact, it seems that pro bono work was rather frowned upon as even actors, directors, make-up artists, costumers, and stagehands have to eat too. So yes, you were quite right to be suspicious of such a "deal". BTW, unless you're dealing with someone like George Lucas, pretty much all motion pictures in the USA have to go thru the SAG union unless they are independent films (and even many of those still adhere to SAG guidelines).

On a side note, my title on the SwordNattion *IS* 'King of Smilies', lol. ;D That's some interesting advice, Laithgoron. It's unlikely that I'll personally ever need to utilize it, but still, it's good to know. P.S. I just noticed your sig. That's so very, very true, lol. -Slayer

To show everyone that the great Slayer is human. The comedic relief would be good. Inquiring minds want to know. Though I don't think I'd have it in me to post em!

True it might have been legitimate, but if it was who the hell do they think they are dealing with, a bum off the street? I understand that it might have been a foot in the door, or an opportunity which comes but once in a lifetime. But OMG, a heads up and a fat paycheck means a hell of alot more than his so called, puting me on the map. In actuality, I'm on the map already, which I've worked very hard for and whatever prestige I got from this project, may or may not have given me more orders. I hope the movie does come out, I've been looking for a sequel for along time ( AT LEAST 3 DECADES) Hopefully it ain't the last time I get approched from Hollywood, union not withstanding.

Great folks look!! Two threads for the price of one. Look at that smiley and this one Just really about the fact that there are alot of folks out there who use thier computer skills as a weapon and can really screw people and the folks being screwed can just shake thier heads and say " Yeah I had that comin". People like me are fare game I guess. I try to be proffessional and forthcoming but I have had quite enough and will now be on guard.

lol! Yeah, that's a good point. Way too many techno-thieves out there. Thanksfully I was just a techno-idiot. ;D Good on ya for being on guard, John. We don't want scammers taking up time that could've been used to make Odinblade legends! -Slayer

And you better be John. Anyway, anything with free/short delay/''prestige'' as a incentive to deal a contract screams ''SCAM ! '' I experienced the same kind of thing in the past as a graphic designer and got caught, but only once You did the right thing, and dont tell me those guys are in any kind of position to make you a bad name

I don't think any of the good sword makers depend much on "first-time" collectors and the ones who know to asses themselves the goods they are getting, well, if they can't see his quality and judge from themselves, they need a new set of glasses...

Slayer, read the book, always read the book before you see the movie. MacBeth is Shakespeare- easier to understand if you read it, rather than view someone else's interpretation of it.
John, I'd LOVE to see one of your works in a movie, but not some cheesy arthouse flick or straight-to-video release. Nah, its gotta be blockbuster....

Aw... I feel so loved! ;D LOL, thanks for the good reception. I still would contest the 'cuteness' of it, though. I'm happy to be called a moron all day long, but I get enough 'cutes' from my mother! Thanks again, guys. ;D -Slayer
