Hey all, new to the forums. I have spent many months learning so much about how to properly shop for good quality katanas online. I have gotten my ass kicked so hard knowledge wise its ridiculous!! What really opened my eyes was SBG, and I am truly greatful for this site. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you could tell me about this forge called Munetoshi swords, because I sure as hell cant find any reviews on their stuff. Here is what I am looking at. www.swordnarmory.com/4-000-Layer-Hand-Forge-Folded-Samurai-Sword-Katana-p/jh-3301bk.htmwww.swordnarmory.com/4-000-Layer-Hand-Forge-Folded-Samurai-Sword-Katana-p/jh-3301rd.htmNow, you'll notice that they mention the presence of substantial niku, which should allow the sword to cut heavier targets and have greater resilience. The hamon looks VERY nice, and the videos demonstrate its a very good cutter. However, knowing nothing about the company, I am baffled, and do not know how to proceed. Any comments/tips appreciated! Thanks all!

It is my understanding that Munetoshi is the name Sword-n-armory is using for their own line of swords. As to which forge they are sourcing them from, I don't believe that information has been released (and it is not customary for a company to do so, either).
As for reviews, look here:
/index.cgi?board=swordreviews&action=display&thread=12554
I'm considering picking up one of the munetoshi swords down the line.

I saw them when I was at the gunshow that swordnarmoury was at. I don´t know about the blade as I didn´t do any cutting with it, but the fitting on those swords are REALLY good.

I saw some of SwordNArmory's new and upcoming models the other night while I was sparring and cutting with the cutting squad and all the swords they showed me looked really good. the only one I cut with was the Ohane which is a Korean competition Hira zukuri style sword and that thing cut so well it was like you were cheating. I think I can reccomend all the new SwordNArmory line swords as being good buys.

I'll make a nice review when mine is in. I won a T10 light cutter fully customized with the UBC contest. I was impressed with the videos and understand that the light stands for the weight and balance and not the cutting strenght.

Congrats Insane, I was just too busy to follow that contest. I sure wish youtube would fix their stupid format it has really killed UBC's participation level.
I look forward to seeing your review.

Yeah, i really don't like the new format. But in this case i didn't mind because with less participants my chances where really good But it's sad that UBC is a bit slow at the moment, maybe a good reasson for making some vids.

We haven't actually named the Korean blade yet. Thank you very much for the kind words, though! ^_^ I personally love our Munetoshi line, and my next three swords will all be from it. Why three? I love every single one of them for completely different reasons! And this is spoken from a woman who owns a Bugei, several Nihonto, a customized Kris Cutlery and more Hanwei than you could shake a stick at. Our Munetoshi have proven themselves to me time and again that they deserve a place in my bladed arsenal due to their toughness and beauty. We have some exciting stuff on the way, folks. Please keep your eyes open! -Midori Kurogami of Sword N Armory.

not that you are biased at all are you Midori? Considering you work for the company lol In all seriousness, knowing a couple of the people who work at swordnarmoury I would say they are not the sort of people who would work for a company that sells an inferior product. They have great customer service and their products look really good. I can safely say you could do a hell of alot worse than SnA

Yeah, I knew someone would say that eventually, lol. I wouldn't promote Munetoshi the way I do if I wouldn't own one...or three...myself. I also wouldn't work for a company I couldn't get behind; I'm just not that kinda gal. The swords speak for themselves, which is what any decent product should do. I hope you all at least get to see one in person (if not own one! ;D) someday. And congrats to Insane for winning the UBC contest! I too really dislike the new youtube layout. It confuses and infuriates me. :/ Sooo....anyone got any questions about Munetoshi? Hit me with your best shot, and I'll answer to the best of my abilities.
