i like the blade and fact that they tested it on telephone poles lol. also blade to blade hits. i think it would tear up some tatami, and broomsticks for sure.
the darksword armory one here is nice also. plus free shipping to Canada, but not sure how battle ready those ones are plus have to pay for a edge.
so think the former one is for my liking. plus the red, blue, or black cross is nice to look at when its on a rack or wall.

I own one. Basically it's a 3 1/2 pound sharpened crowbar. Is that a bad thing? Not for a war sword. This will wear you out long before you can beat it to death.
Hat tip to shopping this one with AoV or Imperial.
You can get more agile and better looking swords, But this is a great buy for some occasional smash mouth ;D.

I don't own this sword, I hear good things about this sword, I have no dog in this fight. I want to give you a karma for one of the quickest, clearest, most concise reviews I've ever seen.

Mike did a review of it and his opinion was pretty much in line with davekelly's. A tad to the heavy side, but a really hard hitter. Go for it.

I had a sword exactly like that, actually. Supremely heavy for one handed work, and the grip just a bit short for two handed work..had to grasp the pommel for most. That being said, it was an excellent, solid sword. Actually handled bamboo quite well.

I've always liked the look of this sword, even with the round grip (which I later learned was detrimental to edge alignment, at least for the budding swordsman/cutter) but then I found other offerings that seemed more in line with what I wanted in a sword.
I can't knock Gen2, they were one of the ones that have been around for years and from what I understand, they put out tough, durable swords. To some, the aesthetics leave somewhat to be desired, but that's to be expected as we all have different tastes and desires.

Ebon, the grip isn't really round, it's like oblong. Same basic sword as my 12th century, I haven't noticed any trouble with edge alignment. That said, I agree it could be better looking and it's a heavy thing. Hard to use one handed and not really made for two. I find it a fun sword tho and cuts good if one can get it swinging.

i am liking the sword the more i look into it. three different colors for the pummle. but i am holding off as a gift for now. HOLIDAYS... but i do intend to snag one, its a vision of to me what a one hander; sometime two. should look like. plus this thing is a beast hehe. might try the dagger first. 19" long more like a matching short sword. hard to find in red pommle though.

I saw the set (sword & dagger together on a baldric) at Texas Renaissance Festival two weeks ago. Only was able to draw it and heft it. No room in the shop to swing it. As others said, the Gen2/Legacy Arms Templar is gripped like a one-hander but has the heft of a 15th century bastard. I didn't like the red cross on the pommel near as much as the black. The red enamel looked too much like something you'd find on a wallhanger.
