Yes! I definitely like her hair shorter. I know it sounds weird, but it actually makes her look Chinese-American. Plus, I love her hairstyle and I think it looks much sexier on her than the ponytail (not that much could really look bad on Revy).
The scans are probably doing that since there's no L in the Japanese language and her name is spelled in Katakana, they assume it's L until the official name is released. However, Revy being short for Rebecca makes much more sense.
As for the knife, look closely at the close-up on the bottom of page 23. Where the blade joins the hilt is significantly thinner (width wise, as opposed to thickness) than the rest of the blade. However, I think that, with the right steel, it'd be perfectly doable, even like that. Roberta is bad ass, for sure. She's the terminator maid for a reason.
And with regards to Cheness kissakis, I guess I'm just weird, then, 'cause I can't see anything wrong with them. Although, that probably has to do with the fact that I really don't know all that much when it comes to sword specifics; even though I'd never use one in this manner unless it was the absolutely last resort, I have the mindset that as long as it could cut someone or something open, it's good enough for me. With that said, my only experience with steel swords is a wall hanger I got for my birthday some years back, so that could go a ways to explain my ignorance on the subject; I was more interested in how to use them, particularly since I have a habit of mapping out fights in my novels by doing them myself.

Sure, it's quite a bit narrower than the majority of the blade, but a lot of knives have blades just as wide with a tang just as narrow. It can certainly be done as-is, but the cutouts would be tricky. Short hair suits her better in my eyes and mind, especially as a person with long hair, myself. Even tied back it tends to get in the way...but what bothers me most is that her hair actually grew longer within the same chapter. In the beginning she had something orange bob cut but around halfway through its tied up with longer side pieces, then by the end she's got a waist-long ponytail. This is only supposed o span a Fe days at the most, too. Also, it seems chapter 11 introduces the twins. I'd still be reading but I'm trying to believe that sleep is a better idea. I dread having to witness the arc's end again.

I dread having to witness the arc's end again. That's true. The cutouts would probably be the trickiest part of the blade, but given the shape, it would probably have to be drop forged or casted. In the latter case, you could simply make a mold that doesn't allow the metal to go where you want the cutouts and then simply pour the liquid metal in. I think that would probably be the better choice, really, since you wouldn't actually be removing metal and thereby weakening the blade, since the material would have never existed in the first place. That's why I keep my hair short. Longest I've ever had it was my shoulders and it got so thick that I couldn't stand it, so I don't know how women can stand it. As for her hair growing mid chapter, I think what happened is that the artist hadn't finalized Revy's design in the very early stages, but had started drawing the chapter. Rather than going back and redoing it and probably wasting days of work (especially if the deadline was near), he probably felt it was easier to just change it mid chapter. Which is a shame because she really does look better with short hair. I believe her original hair style's called a swingy bob, where it's medium length in front and gets slowly short in the back. At least, I think. Sleep is always a good idea... When you're not me, that is. When you've experienced even one of my nightmares, you tend to not be in a hurry to go back to sleep.

Eh, the nightmares used yo keep me company...now even they leave me alone.
I'd also forgotten about ol' Hansel's axe. That was an interesting design, too.

They used to leave me alone, too, until they got more vivid.
Ah, yes, I had forgotten about the axe. It really is an interesting design, though I wonder what advantages/disadvantages the canted haft would offer.

Got all caught up in Black Lagoon last night. Find myself again pondering Shenhua's (pretty sure I spelled that wrong) chained twin kukris' plausibility. Still love Sawyer...and her chainsaw, too, I guess, though. Manga is far more enjoyable than the anime was, but having read through what's out I feel inclined to watch the new OVA's, too. Got a lot of catching up to do on this season, might just throw in whatever's out. Come to think of it, I'm not watching anything with swords this season.

I suppose it would be similar to the kusarigama, except that both ends are just as deadly. It would probably work since you would have a weapon if you lost the kukri you just threw. Yeah, Sawyer's pretty awesome. Shenhua is, too, but only in the manga, as far as I'm concerned, since you don't have to listen to her annoyingly high pitched voice. I have that urge, too, in a way; I kinda want to watch Roberta's Blood Trail to see the psycho terminator maid in action. I dunno why it's an OVA, though... They could have just made it into Season 3, seeing as it spans 33 chapters, which makes up nearly half the manga, so it could be its own season. Plus, I also want to see the chibi-terminator maid. Huh. Funny how that works out. I'm really picky about my anime, so I don't actually watch as much as I used to. There's a couple I'm considering, but I dunno. I'm also trying to steer away from ongoing anime because I absolutely hate filler episodes, which are inevitable since the anime moves faster than the manga. After the, you know, 100+ fillers on Naruto, I refused to watch them again.

Fillers are why I try not to watch anything shounen unless it's specifically slated for ONLY 24 our so episodes. Or if the manga is paced sufficiently and has enough head start to keep a good spread between the two. Bleach, for instance, started too early, and the manga's tendency to have whole chapters of only 15-20 pages cover only a minute or two of fighting or maybe tree minutes of dialogue...yeah, you can't have a real anime for that until it's over...and as we all know, it never will be.
Fabiola was delicious. I could go for more of her.

Fabiola was delicious. I could go for more of her. I actually think that while Bleach could have started later as an anime, it's only had a total of about 80 filler episodes compared to 200 canon episodes. If anything, I think the Naruto anime started too soon, since there were a good 130 episodes out of the 220 pre-time skip series that were filler. I haven't watched much of the Shippuden series because it got into fillers like 20 episodes in. Interestingly enough, the One Piece anime has only had about 20 filler episodes and it's got about 450 episodes out. Yes, she was. It's a shame she had a relatively small role. I'm curious as to why the artist made her NATIC so huge. With that said, I started rereading a manga I've had for years this morning and it has tons and tons of fantasy swords, though only about 3 of them might be possible for humans to wield (let alone be function) since the smallest is about the size of Cloud's Buster Sword from Final Fantasy. There's a kid in it who wields a sword so big the pommel alone is as big as his head.

Yeah, it's rather weird as to why the swords are so big. I think it mostly has to do with the fact that it's a fantasy manga regularly featuring devils and angels who are superhumanly strong. I mean, the basic premise for the manga is that an angel and devil, eternal rivals, mortally wound one another in their 101st duel and fall to earth. On the verge of death, each possesses the first human they come across. Ironically, the two humans they possess are twin brothers and the devil possessed the younger of the two. And to add insult to injury, the younger brother is an occult obsessed geek who is regularly bullied while the elder brother, whom the angel possessed, is a violent bully.

That's starting to sound more familiar. Pretty sure I've heard that plot line before, but it may or may not bee the same series.

The series is called Devil & Devil, if that helps.
Ack, this is what happens when you stop watching anime; I have nothing new to add to the thread itself.
