October 14, 2009 i had place order for shobu zukuri katana from st- sword: blade t-10 steel:75cm. motohaba: 35mm kasane: 8mm sori:~3cm (deep) blade clay hardened water quenched tsuka 29cm, shape following curvature of blade full same wrap, ito real black leather koshire iron saya black . I had deal with follow forumite ts168trading. I like his service. Good communication. Emails were responded very quickly, sometimes the same day. ( different time zone!+13 hr to mine time). I had email ts168trading today. Katana in progress and blade has 3cm sori and 35mm motohaba.;D I'm happy with st-sword. What i can advise is to have some pics prepared to give ts168trading better idea what you want. tomek

Hirishi, katana is still in making process. i just wanted to share my experience with st-swords service, sorry for my English. There was probably already a post about st-sword, i don't know why but i can't go back to the previous pages. Oh divine The Ebon Cassiline now I know why you have so many posts on your profile ;D .Just because you never heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't exist... oh divine. Too bad that i can't go back because about a month ago ts168trading was posting here. old fart - szabla

I think The Ebon Cassiline didn't mean to be hostile. I have to say that I had some trouble understanding the meaning of your first post, too.
I can't wait to see the final product. It's always nice to see someone trying out a new seller. Sometimes you can find a real gem.
By the way, this has been bothering me for a while. Szabla, are you Polish?

You can pass over the mistakes while still understanding the meaning of the post. Nikuś. I'm a Polak born in America ohhhh yeahhh

I don't know about the rest of you guys but I read the initial post here more easily than half the posts of native speakers.
Looking forward to seeing the sword, did they estimate a completion date?

Hmmm, looks like the blades are drool-worthy, so to say I'm a little worried about the saya / tsuka quality as this seems to be the main problem with such sellers ( exactly the kind of problem I had with a sword I ordered from JWHOTSTEELFORGE ). Hey there Nikuś. Yeah, the first post was understandable, but it was a little too short maybe. Let's just say that the intention of the post itself was a little unclear. I think that was the main problem. I'm mostly guessing here as I've managed to figure it out after reading carefully To not provoke offtopic discussion I'll PM you Tomek ( actually, which do you prefer? Tomek or Szabla? ).

Randomnobody, no they didn't give an estimate of the finishing date but in today's email they told me that the blade is finished and they are working on the saya.
I started the posts about sword services and suppliers because is good to share experience before ordering ,avoiding wasting money for dishonest makers or suppliers. Lastly i saved some money thanks to guys from the nihonto forum. I had purchased NCO gunto which apired to be fake (good made one) but because i posted a question with pics, guys from nihonto forum helped me with their knowledge backed up with hard to get pics (for example how aluminum gunto tsuka is build inside), so i had a chance to send the fake sword back to seller. This lesson cost me only shipping back fee and 2.5% paypal fee (seller was not familiar with paypal). Sharing experience is priceless.

Wow, looks like you had your share of not so enviable experiences with sellers. Myself I've only had delivery time issues so far ( we're talking about swords only ), but ultimately it always ended well. I started the posts about sword services and suppliers because is good to share experience before ordering ,avoiding wasting money for dishonest makers or suppliers. Sharing experience is priceless. Now, these 2 sentences show some real wisdom and what everyone should always do. Writing BOTH positive and negative feedback about sellers is very important as it may save someone's time and money.

Looks real good, they make very nice blades. Don't seem to be a deep sori though, but pics can be deceiving. Same tsuba as on my Doragon katana, a nice namban.

Don't seem to be a deep sori though, but pics can be deceiving. When i saw this pic (below) of an unpolished blade i was wondering about the sori too. I emailed Sheng and he assured me that the blade sori is 3cm, and motohaba is 3.5cm, same as i wished to be made. szabla

Your sword seems part of his products now: www.st-sword.com/product_view.asp?id=387EDIT: He actually added this sword to his catalog today. If I were to take a guess, I think he liked your design and production made it

I like st-sword's stuff, even their 50$ swords look good and well polished, and the fittings look even better than the ever so popular 80% musashi I think i'll take the plunge on that one.
