Since joining this forum, I have noticed several guest accounts. The one in particular that stands out is rammstein. What happened to him? Did his account get disabled? Can guest accounts post? I doubt that they can, but I'm just making sure. It seems that Hotspur is now a guest. Does this mean that he is gone forever? If so, I will be very sad. He was such a brilliant contributor.

I think Hotspur (Glen) deleted his account, it is sad to see him go too. I learn a lot from him.

Why do you think he left? His departure is similar to the fall of Gandalf in The Fellowship of the Ring. He knew so much!

Wow, and to think that I read the entire thread yesterday. That was before Hotspur posted. As I was reading the thread yesterday I thought to myself, "This is rediculous. Why won't everyone just shut up? It would eliminate the silly drama that has been present from the start of the thread." I find it difficult to believe that Hotspur would delete his account over a petty disagreement. Surely something deeper was behind his decision.

Rimmsteen was a jerk off, he was a source of many a derailed thread and decided to throw a fit, delete his account and leave never to return. Despite popular opinion, he still hasn't come back unless he has done so under an alias, which I don't think is possible either as you could pick out his little attitude a mile away. He was the ultimate armchair swordsman.
Oh no, I noticed Glen C has deleted his account here also? He has most likely gone back to SFI, he seemed none too happy no one got his point on the LOTR thread, or any other thread for that matter, with his double personality and wording you could barely make out what point he was trying to make anyway. Sad too because Glen really knows his stuff. Well, like he says himself, you know you can find him and his opinions and his little hotspur comments on MANY other forums.

An indivdual has the ability to delete their own account here. After that happens, their signature goes back to its original title. For instance, if I were to delete my account, all of my posts wouldn't be under Avery, they would be under absilits, as this was the title I used to create my account. And I would be registered as guest. As for being able to post as guest, I'm pretty sure you still can, but never having deleted my account, I don't know for certain. And about Hotspur, well I don't know enough to comment, but if he did indeed leave, I am saddened.

I for one find his "hotspur" footnotes annoying and am glad there is one less forum where I have to see them. I wasn't a real fan of his attitude and had a few disagreements with him, but if nothing else, he was entertaining to spar with.
Some people just need to grow a thinker skin.....
hotspur.....FINITO!

Yeah, he was a tad frustrating at times, but I just avoided him. No reason to get strung out on the internet.
Now, when someone comes into your house and sets it on fire...yeah, then you can get strung out. But eh, I'm not here to judge.
We had this one nice girl on here looking for a tanto or something, and then disappeared the second she ordered one. It's a shame; she was nice.

Yeah right, everyone knows there are no girls on the internet.
But anyway, I respected Hotspur and found him to be a great source of information, even if I didn't always agree with him 100%. The only thing that ever really bugged me about his posts was that they were often longer than my attention span ca--oh hey that's shiny! Where was I? Anyway, I don't think we should be talking so poorly of him, if he deleted his account his reasons are his own.

I miss Rammy. Sure, he got into some "discussions" but I never saw him resort to name calling. He was opinionated but never mean.

I liked both Rammstein and Glen.
Ramm was a pretty switched on kid, I believe he is still doing a university course, and Glen was one of the most intelligent people I've met on the internet, but that of course leads to arguments.
Thanks, -Tajima

Come on guys let's stop discussing members who are no longer on SBG and therefore can't reply to the stuff said here. Nothing wrong with free speech of course but let's focus on the future not the past. Though we've lost some people we have some damn fine members left and we're recruiting more members every week who only add more to the fountain of knowledge here

Just remember that not only do we welcome and take all kinds but we need all kinds and are better/richer for them...................within reason!

I hope that none of our other older members leave. Its a shame when anyone leaves, but that is life on the web. Even when we need to ban someone who is a real trouble maker, its still a shame. Reason being, you never know what that person could have contributed to others. Hotspur was looked up to by a lot of people, and many members learned quite a bit from him during his stay here. Sure, there were also those of us who found him to be very pretentious and even a bit of a narcissist. But its still a shame that he has left... Just like Ramm,... he and i had quite a few arguments when he was here. Shoot, he even had me ready to leave! Ramm was hard to get used to, but once you did he was a joy to talk & joke with. So really you never know, you can dislike someone immensely one day, and end up being friends with them the next... But most importantly, you have to be around to make those transitions possible. If you pick up you ball & go home, then we all lose. You... Me... Everybody

I find this all disturbing.....
I've talked, corresponded, learned, discussed, informed Glen for many years even before SBG came to being.......
His personal life has been a very rough ride for some time (major, major health issues). never had a problem with his quips.....it's just Glen's personality.
Again....... sets me to thinking.......

Despite it being hard to understand his points sometimes, Glen was one of the smartest and most helpful people on this forum. We are poorer if he is gone. I hope he rethinks his decision and returns.
I often found his little points at the end of his posts to be quite useful as they often summed up the point he was trying to make.

(Kidding, there, Mr. Gall, "Sir". ) At any rate, I haven't noticed a decline in Earth's rotation yet...
