I think the site is looking really good. 'Course it really doesn't matter to me what it looks like, its the content that matters. I think Pauls done a good job on not only the site, but also with putting up with all our badgering.
On a side note, I've too have acted somewhat immature in this thread on a couple of posts, and apologize for the sidetracking.

Paul, the site looks great! I agree with Avery, even when it was hurting my eyes, it didn't matter to me. The SBG community is one of the friendliest I've seen. All of us sword junkies talking about our addiction...

It's a hell of a lot more friendly than NetSword ever was to me, back in the day M.

I'm not sure if I should put this out there but........the forum sort of looks like 4chan now.

I don't see any particular resemblance that doesn't hold true to all other message boards.

I prefer the old plain white look. I like to browse SBG at sometimes at work and I prefer the plain white look because it looks more like the background colors of an Excel spreadsheet. That way other people can't tell when I occasionally take a break from my work.
Could it be possible to let people choose the SBG look in preferences?

Never heard of 4chan..! But anyway, for those of you who prefer a very basic look, I have added a new skin 'blackandwhite' - (which looks very much like an excel spreadsheet Bill) Simply select your profile, click on 'modify profile' and scroll down near the bottom until you hit the option to select skin and give it a try. It is intentionally very basic and strips away most of the nice modifications I have made... (hehe, no hard feelings - just thought it only fair to offer this option). Most of the changes are behind us now, the categories are seperated from each other as are the stickies and announcements - and I think all the bugs have been ironed out. A few more minor tweaks over the coming days, but nothing too dramatic. But yup - for those of you who like to keep it simple, the option is there now. (who says you can't please everyone! Lol). Cheers, - Paul

4chan is a western derivative of the original Japanese 2chan board. They are image boards with anonymous posting. The colours of the forum are kind of similar to the NSFW areas of those sites. That's all, noting major to think about.
Thanks for the basic skin option.

Is anyone else geting the same problem as me with the search results?

Lol I’m glad I avoid that problem working for myself and on top of that those people I work with may think it a bit nutty collecting swords but hey “it's not really a good idea to hassle someone who collects sharp objects for a hobby” Thanx Paul the board is looking great but then again I have not been here long enough to get to attached to the old one sorry people. Peace Dave

That is a great idea; implementation may take some doing but I'm not a netwizard so I don't know offhand. But I liked the old look simply because it could be construed as something work-related as opposed to now, where they KNOW it is not. I do like the new look, however, so I voted to keep it. Having the option of either/or would be perfect.

I believe that we already do, Ebon. Paul posted above that it is now an option to have a very basic, Microsoft Excel-ish background and such. Just follow his instructions if you want to try it out. ;D

Yeah for the black and white. Not that I didn't like the new look, but it gave me eye strain after like 3 minutes for some reason.

I prefer the new look now that's it's at least similar to the old one. Still, it's good to offer the basics. -Slayer
