At least he is living his dream. Some of our dreams aren't as easy to live.

Avery, how did you know I needed a good laugh today? I think I've met that drunk arse before and had him try that "Ninjee chop' on me. I think I was laughing too hard to beat his ass after wards. Yeah, he should try and take on Greg Parks. ROTFLMAO I'd fly out to Cali just to see that match, maybe we should all chip in and hire Diamond Dave as kinda like a travelling Hero. Perhaps only he can stop the madness. I really hate to admit this, but my money would actually be on Parks in that particular match, as you can tell that at some point he had some real MA training. Not that anything seems to have sunken in. However, I would like to see Parks in a real match aginst somebody with real talent. Wasn't joking when I said I think I might have actually run into Diamond Dave in real life if I'm remembering anywhere near halfway right it was at a bar in Topeka (that night is a bit fuzzy in my memory), and some skinny hick who looked similar tried to Karate Chop me as I was helping a friend out of the bar. The problem for the skinny hick was that I was in the military at the time, and Army guys travel in packs. He quickly learned the error of his ways, that evening. It probably was somebody else who looked similar but the clips make me wonder.

Not just the Army, Marines travel in packs too... I took the worst beating of my life from 3-4 Marines (I'm still hazy on the numbers, there was much pain and the whole being knocked out and then kicked while I was down thing...) I held a grudge against Marines for a long time after that... till I met some that were pretty decent guys and eventually cut it lose. I did learn to pay more attention to my surroundings and gauge how many people I might be facing before letting someone get under my skin enough to pick a fight from that experience tho...

Yeah an experience like that will teach you to pay better attention to surroundings. The worst beating I ever took was getting jumped 5 against one. We won't get into anything that may have happened to those gentlemen about a week later. Anyway, for the Topeka incident, like I said I was helping a friend out of the bar, and he (my friend) had apparently hit on skinny dude's SO. Since I was there, and standing, I was a target as well. I couldn't swing back at skinny dude as I was holding the drunken friend (jerk hit me in the back too). However, I could shout my unit designator, and school skinny dude on the fact 16 of us has piled into several cars for a nice Saturday night out away from post. (app a 2 hour drive from Ft. Riley to Topeka) Yeah, military guys travel in packs no matter the branch of service.

Three or less I can handle, it gets rough and I may not look so pretty at the end of it, but I can survive it. More than that, and I'm headed for the door fast.

I was in a situation some years ago where it was a 3 on 1 deal. I'd have to say I lost the fight, but I didn't have to go to the hospital...One of them did for an overnighter.

Aww come on what did you do? Throw an axe at him? lol I took out a guys knee before taking a bottle to the head. Before I went down I added a kidney stomp. I got a few cracked ribs and pissed blood a bit myself afterwards. I never found out the extent of the damage, but the cop who took my statement said he was in for a night at least. Never saw those guys again.

I took a bottle to the head as well. Also a mess of cracked ribs, broken nose, chipped teeth, massive bruising and beating, and a broken thumb. No fun. I think I did some good damage to one of em, cuz I broke my steel toed boot on him, but I'm not sure, because I was out for awhile after the beating, and I never saw them again either... never saw more then one of em clear enough to really place his face anyway. The stupidity of youth.

The stupidity of youth, I'll drink to that!
I still carry a scar on my forehead from that night. Thats what cost me the fight, it's hard to fight when you're blinded by your' own blood. And really, when you think about it, even when you win a brawl, you still lose. The aches and pains the next day hurt no matter what. And I've found that as I get older, my knuckles swell with the weather and lock up from time to time.....and I'm only 30. Don't care to think how they'll feel in another decade or so. It's true, youth is wasted on the young.

I'm only 33, but I have had 27 confirmed (possibly more unconfirmed) broken bones over the years, and countless other injurys. I have a bit of arthritus like pain in my knuckles... my knees, especily my right knee which I have broken twice, are a joke... and my left side colarbone never did heal quite right. If I could go back, I'd live a very different, much more peaceful, life... because I'm paying for it now.

Hearing you guys talk doesn't make me feel bad about having to walk with a cane right now, at least I'm the oldest of the the three of us (by about 3 years come the end of month). At least it was a friggen car I lost the fight to this time around. However, I still feel all the fights I've been in somedays. At 3 on 1, I was able to walk away from that fight, but I can call it a win, I just earned "last man standing." Contusions, some lacerations that didn't get noticed until later on the back of my head (thanks adrenaline), and a right knee that hurts to this day. Yup, stupid youth. Though I usually blame tequila.

Sir LP, ( ;d) I've been there too. Its actually the reason I found SBG. Last year I busted my left leg when I wrecked my jeep. Spent 3 months laid up, couldn't even walk. I feel your pain man.

We sound like some really pathetic old men... Despite a few new creaks in the wood, I don't get old,....I get better! Hey, swordsmen age like whiskey right Well, the current incident happened back on the 8th a **** ran me off the road when I was bicycling to work. I was riding in the road because of this: "No person over 11 years old shall operate a bicycle on any sidewalk in Louisville Metro, and nobody of any age shall ride on the sidewalk downtown." www.louisvilleky.gov/BikeLouisville/bike_laws/Mother F***er comes up behind me with no headlights on (it wasn't even 7 am yet, and the day was overcast) to lay on his horn as load and long as possible, which caused me to lose control of the bike, and hit pavement. Than the b****** just drove off down the road like nothing happened. I was a bit to busy trying to keep my head from getting split open to snag his plate number, so it's officially a "hit and run" but since the best description I could give the cops was "silver, Nissan Altima." My hopes are not high for the jerk getting caught. And, of course, after spending a week at home, doc's orders, the temporary contract I was working under mysteriously got ended. I can almost hear a Seinfeld-esque voice saying, "No swords for you." Oh well, I'm finding out a 7/8" diameter cane can work quite well for sword forms.

I am sixteen and have not been in any "fights" so far. It's quite simple actually. All I have to do is hold my tongue and everything is fine.
